We were truly inspired by the incredible turnout and the strong spirit of community that filled the SHA New Holly Campus at this year’s Day of Dignity 2026! 🌟
Muslim Housing Services (MHS) was honored to once again host this action-packed day of giving on behalf of Islamic Development and Empowerment in America (IDEA), formerly Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA), continuing a longstanding Collaboration dedicated to serving vulnerable and low-income families.
With IDEA representatives on-site in their newly branded apparel alongside our team, we delivered vital seasonal relief directly to low-income, homeless and formerly homeless families. IDEA provided warm winter coats, sleeping bags, children's backpacks, school kits and personal hygiene kits. Complementing these resources, MHS distributed warm meals to everyone, including pantry staples like flour, rice, oil, sugar and essential items such as baby diapers.
A massive and heartfelt THANK YOU to the dedicated service providers and volunteers who brought so much energy, information and direct care to our community:
• SHA New Holly Campus Management: For generously serving as our welcoming venue sponsor!
• King County Public Health - Access & Outreach: For connecting attendees with critical healthcare resources.
• King County District Court: We loved having our steadfast advocate Judge Andrea Jarmon alongside the Therapeutic Court Manager, sharing court service materials and handing out fun trinkets to attendees!
• People's Defence Collective (PDC): A special thank you to Attorney Fadi Assaf for his enduring commitment to pro-bono legal counsel and hosting a dedicated legal clinic off-campus at our MHS office.
• City of Seattle Police Department (SPD) & TRAC Associates: For providing essential information and guidance as part of their dedicated access and outreach efforts!
• Ayan (Volunteer Henna Artist): Thank you for answering our community call for skilled volunteers and sharing your beautiful henna artistry with our attendees!
A resounding thank you to our incredible MHS staff who worked tirelessly over the weekend to make this event run seamlessly, and to all our wonderful community volunteers! From directing traffic and assisting seniors to packing supplies straight into cars, you made us proud and brought true joy and dignity to the day. 💙
