Power to the people is not a slogan. It’s a lineage.
Seattle artists—this is a call to step into something real.

The Seattle Black Panther Party Legacy Group is building The Prelude—an opening gesture toward the Seattle Black Panther Party Interpretive Center. We’re seeking artists whose work carries memory, resistance, and truth… not just aesthetics, but weight.

This is about legacy.

This is about lived experience.

This is about what still echoes—and what must be said now.

3-10 artists will be selected to contribute original works engaging the spirit and impact of the Seattle Black Panther Party.

If your work speaks to the people, this is your moment to answer.

Tomorrow, May 5, is GiveBig to nonprofits across Washington! We hope that you will choose to support us on this day of giving. With your support we can help our brothers and sisters struggling under the burden of their LFOs, while also doing their best to take care of their children. We’ve partnered with the Seattle Public Library to bring this exhibit to life — centering the real experiences of those impacted by court debt, incarceration, and the journey of rebuilding.

This series is more than just events — it’s about creating space for truth, connection, and community.

Swipe for details on each event and how to be part of the conversation.➡️

We’re incredibly grateful for our partners, sponsors, and the community who continue to support this work and make spaces like this possible. Your support truly matters.

This Women's History Month, we honor people who identify as women who have been incarcerated and those who are currently incarcerated. We are proud that the people we serve are disproportionately women/women-identifying. When we help women, we help the whole family and community. 💚
