Hi All! It's me Jen Nye. I want to make sure you're aware of a vital campaign that impacts all of us, artists especially so.

Whole Washington is in the middle of a signature collection campaign for ballot initiative I-1471 - Universal Healthcare for Washington State. If this passes, we'll all have healthcare! It won't be tied to a dumb job anymore. So what I'm saying is...Artists will have healthcare! Vision, dental, mental health svcs, reproductive health svcs --including abortion, prescription drug coverage and more.

To get on the ballot, we need 400,000+ signatures by the end of the year. We've been slogging away and we're at 56K signatures entered. There are more out there that haven't been entered, but come on. We seriously have to activate this thing into high gear. Can you pleazzzze help?

Here's what I'm talking about. It's not hard. We just added an option where you can have a petition mailed directly to you! There's room for 20 signatures on each. Fill it if you can! Ask friends, family, co-workers, neighbors. If you can get 15, great! 10? We'll take them. Then just mail the petition back for $1.36.

If you want to do more, consider giving 10 hours to the campaign. Hang out at a park, live event, farmers market, whatever. Stand there, look cute, and get sigs. It's easy, important, and rewarding. And maybe think of it this way--you'll want to look back and say you were a part of this! Let's show future generations the power of a collective win--and ooooh boyeee, we all could really use one.

REMINDER - If you've already taken a petition from me, can you either mail it in or drop it off at my place in the soonish timeframe? (Supplies are at my house too. 8613 35th Ave SW in West Seattle)

Or hey! what about donating $5/month? We'll know by December whether we've qualified or not, so this would be a finite, recurring donation!

From !! Young writers get published and earn $ ! Your creativity and voice need to be heard 💥 “looking for original works of poetry, short story, etc (open topic) from young writers who are in Middle School, High School and GED from the Seattle area. The best submissions will receive $100 and be published in our next edition of the Boot.

This is a great opportunity for young people who are interested in writing, publishing, journalism, and any other arts centered around creative writing. Students can use this on a resume, and they will have either a digital or print copy for themselves.”
