Join us for the South Sound Chapter Washington Native Plant Society Summer Social at the Tacoma Nature Center, 1919 S Tyler St. on Sunday June 14 from 3:30-6:00PM. Enjoy an afternoon of learning, exploration, and community with a guided plant walk, a deep dive into fern identification, and a fun hands-on activity. We'll wrap up the day with a catered dinner and a dessert potluck. Bring your favorite sweet treat to share if you'd like. Do you remember the first time a plant stopped you in your tracks?

Maybe it was a meadow edged with camas blooming violet-blue in the evening light. Or perhaps it was the papery rustle of red alder leaves. Maybe it was the resinous scent of Douglas-fir after rain.

That feeling and those plants are what we protect.

Washington Native Plant Society has spent 50 years fighting for the grasses, wildflowers, ferns, and ancient trees that call this place home. Native plants blanket our plains and mountains, feed our pollinators, and quiet something restless inside us when we enter their world.

Today, during Give Big, we are asking you to help us keep that feeling alive for future generations.

Your gift funds plant conservation, habitat restoration, youth, education, and learning opportunities to bring communities together in their shared love for the countless diverse native plants that make our state unique. It supports botanists to walk our trails counting, cataloging, and caring for these plants. It means a child will someday crush a sprig of sagebrush between their fingers and feel, for the first time, that they can love and appreciate this land.

Thank you for Giving Big to Washington Native Plant Society!
