The founder, Ellen Young, is dedicated to raise awareness of the challenges children face in the foster care system. Furthermore she designed The F-factor as an organization that will allow the community to participate in exciting fashion events that directly benefit foster youth in our community. The F-factor designs signature, Fashion Workshops to impact the lives of foster children and abandone

F-factor was born from the passion to support foster youth, created by our Executive Director Ellen Young back in 2006, growing and operating since. With the urgent, ongoing need to support Washington State youth living in foster care and experiencing homelessness, we at F-factor recognize the potential we have to serve more youth at-risk and to provide everyday necessities, but only in partnership with our sister organization, Ruby Room.

As a result, we’re thrilled to announce and debut the merge of Ruby Room and F-factor, under the Ruby Room name.

The new organization brings together a variety of fashion-driven workshops, personal styling services, formal clothing selection programs, a bespoke annual fashion show and more. Formerly two organizations, both inspired by the power of fashion, Ruby Room and F-factor joined forces in 2016.

Ruby Room empowers youth through fashion by channeling the strength of personal style as a tool for building self-confidence.

As we close out the year, we want to give a huge thank you to everyone who donated to our Giving Tuesday and Virtual Giving Tree programs. With your help, we gifted more than 1,360 toys, clothes, shoes, blankets, arts and crafts, books and face masks to foster youth and youth experiencing homelessness for a warm holiday season.

In partnership with The Beyond Project, we gifted 100 haircuts for foster children! Working together we also gifted more than 1,000 pieces of Thrive Causemetics to fill stockings and individual care packages for social workers and shelter employees as a way to say “thank you” for their hard work and continuing to provide essential services through this pandemic.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Virtual Giving Tree! 🎄 Because of you, we were able to deliver gifts to social workers in the area, including more than 200 self care kits for their networks and gifts for youth in foster care and experiencing homelessness so that they have their own presents to open during the holidays (we felt like Santa himself!). Your contributions are making sure children in need are able to have special memories during this time of year to look back on.

Never forget the difference YOU have made! ❤️

Today is the last day to give to our Virtual Giving Tree! 🎄

When you give a gift or donate to fund the program, you're not just giving a present to a child in need. You're giving foster youth and children living in homelessness the chance to be kids again, to have the feeling of opening a gift of their own during the holiday season with a smile as wide as they can get. You're giving them a holiday they'll look back on as a positive memory in their childhood, one they'll cherish and remember for years to come.

We'll deliver all gifts to social workers so they can bring them directly to children in need. If you're able, visit our website to give today: https://www.f-factor.org/virtualgivingtree-2020

"It feels like Christmas morning" is a phrase people often use to describe the giddy feeling they get when experiencing something new or exciting. No matter what holiday you celebrate, we all know the kind of feeling where you can't keep a smile off your face, or the one where you can't sleep because you're looking forward for what's to come...

That feeling is exactly what you're giving a child in foster care or experiencing homelessness when you gift to our Virtual Giving Tree. If you're able, visit our website to give today: https://www.f-factor.org/virtualgivingtree-2020

When you buy a gift for or donate to our Virtual Giving Tree this year, you're putting gifts under the tree for children who don't always get to open a present of their own during the holidays. When you contribute to our Virtual Giving Tree, you're making a child in need feel loved and bringing some light to their holiday season.
