Reminder! This Sunday: Exclusive Uzbek Movie Premiere

The Seattle-Tashkent Sister City Association is pleased to help promote a special cultural event presented by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan.

Join us this Sunday, May 17, for the premiere screening of the acclaimed Uzbek film “Omonatim” - shown in Uzbek with English subtitles, making it accessible both to Uzbek-speaking guests and to anyone interested in discovering contemporary Uzbek cinema.

Following the screening, guests will have a unique opportunity to participate in an open conversation with the film’s Director and Main Actor.

STSCA Board members represented Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 at ICFF—the International Children’s Friendship Festival—today at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion. We’ll be there again tomorrow, April 19, so stop by and say Hi!

ICFF is a free, child-centered event organized every year by our friends at TACAWA, the Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington 🇹🇷. ICFF features colorful music and dance performances by children representing a myriad of different nationalities, along with festive tables dedicated to sharing information about various countries and cultures of the world.

We are delighted to announce that STSCA will be participating in an upcoming event titled “Nowruz in King County, Washington: Cultural Continuity, Identity Reconstruction, and Community Belonging.” This event will be hosted by Porsesh Policy Research Institute. 🌸

Our Co-Vice President, Sarvar Abdukarimov, will be a panelist, sharing his personal experiences celebrating Nowruz in Seattle and the profound significance of this cultural tradition to our community.

We eagerly anticipate the chance to connect, learn, and celebrate together!
