Gage Academy of Art Selected for Best Start for Kids Youth Development Grant Award Will Help Expand Access to Art Education in King County

Do you know an ambitious young artist in the seattle area? You should tell them about Skill Set! Skill set is a series of classes at Gage Academy of Art for young artists looking to build foundational skills, and refine technique in art.

One skill Set class offered this fall is "Drawing" with teaching artist Sean Hutton. In this class students will explore figures, illustrative character design, perspective and landscape creation and use a variety of techniques in both dry and wet mediums. As well as find a method of creating and looking at art that evokes a personal connection.

One of the skill set classes being offered this Fall is "Imaginative Landscapes" with teaching artist Sarah Bixler. Students will learn foundational skills in mediums like gouache, and mixed media art, to create original, imaginative landscape pieces. They'll learn from the works of artists past, and get opportunities to bring in pieces from their own favorite artists to help them develop their own unique voice.
