Join us in community on Friday, May 22nd, from 9:00AM - 12:00PM for our 2026 Memorial Walk to celebrate and honor our relatives who have passed on. ❤️

Our Annual Memorial Walk supports our members, relatives, and staff that have felt the losses of our honored relatives. Together in solidarity, we will lead with compassion, values, and culture to nurture and strengthen the spirit of our urban Native people.

This year’s route returns to its origins:
📍 START: Chief Seattle Club Day Center
📍 Pioneer Square
📍 Seattle Art Museum
📍 END: Victor Steinbrueck Park
Lunch will be provided at 12:30PM close to our Day Center.

Please note that a photographer will be present for our event! While all regalia, drums, and rattles are encouraged, they are not required to participate. 📸‼️

We hope to see you there!

This Monday, we had the privilege of hosting King County Executive Girmay Zahilay at Sweetgrass Flats, where he announced the “Breaking the Cycle” Initiative! 🎉

This levy is a bold new plan to help break the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and incarceration, and provide long-term solutions centered on data, accessibility, and stability.

Many thanks to Executive Zahilay and the King County Council for their work and thought partnership on this initiative. We’re excited to see how “Breaking the Cycle” will pave the way for housed and healthier communities!

Permanent supportive housing (PSH) is a common term used at Chief Seattle Club, but what does it actually mean? ⬇️

Permanent supportive housing refers to a community based housing model that provides people experiencing chronic homelessness with a safe space to call home.

Our PSH buildings are designed for Native peoples, with culturally informed spaces and services that provide the necessary care needed for our members to regain stability and independence.

Winter has come to an end, but we are still excited to share highlights from our 25-26' Winter Donation Drive!

We’re endlessly grateful to our community for showing up for our members. Small actions like donating a spare winter coat can have life-saving impacts. 🫶🏽

Community ties are vital for holistic care for our relatives.

That’s why we partner with the Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB) to provide up to 1,200 members with culturally-informed health services and resources every year.

We know that together, we can help get our members the social services they deserve.

One of Chief Seattle Club’s key goals is designing spaces for Native people to feel at home and represented in.

In our first building, ʔálʔal (meaning “home” in Lushootseed), located in Pioneer Square, we have an “All Nations Community Space” where our staff and members with backgrounds from all walks of life can come together and practice ceremony.

Did you know that Sacred Medicine House, our flagship permanent supportive housing building, has a medicine wheel in the courtyard?

The medicine wheel is a sacred symbol for Native peoples, as it represents the interconnectedness of our physical and spiritual ways of life and serves as a guide for healing.

Through culturally informed housing, we aim to continue providing sacred spaces to nurture, affirm, and strengthen the spirit of urban Native people.

February is Black History Month and we have been celebrating all our Black and Afro-Indigenous relatives and staff who make our communities better!

We are proud to uplift the Lavender Rights Project, a Black Trans Feminist organization in Seattle committed to dismantling systems that disproportionately harm Black Trans individuals and q***r communities. In 2025, our support helped them open the Sharyn Grayson House, providing 32 units of permanent supportive housing.

We will continue supporting Black and Afro-Indigenous communities with safe, culturally grounded housing and beyond—we are stronger together.
