TAKE ACTION against the “More Gooder” timber sale in Washington State! tinyurl.com/NoMoreGooder
There’s nothing good about the More Gooder timber sale. Located in western Lewis County, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR)’s 79-acre proposal threatens to erase one of the most ecologically rich, carbon-dense, and biodiverse legacy forests left in southwest WA. Units 2, 3, and 4 of the sale are home to a complex understory and stream network, high-quality wildlife habitat, towering bigleaf maples, and 130-year-old Douglas firs over five feet thick. A globally imperiled species, the Columbia torrent salamander, has even been documented just a half-mile downstream from where logging would take place.
During the SEPA review process for More Gooder, representatives from both the Cowlitz and Chehalis Tribes expressed serious concerns about the proposed sale. This is likely why, for two consecutive months (May and June 2026), DNR has delayed presenting More Gooder to the Board of Natural Resources for approval. But the threat remains.
Please submit a comment to the WA Board of Natural Resources urging board members to oppose the More Gooder timber sale, especially Units 2-4. Visit tinyurl.com/NoMoreGooder for details, a sample comment, and photos of the forest at stake.
