Jubilee Women's Center supports women experiencing poverty to build stable and fulfilling futures

Jubilee Women’s Center supports women experiencing poverty to build stable and fulfilling futures. Led by the guiding principle that women of all races and cultures are to be treated with respect and dignity, Jubilee provides programs and services that empower women to make positive life changes. Since 1983, Jubilee Women’s Center has transformed the lives of over a thousand homeless and low-income women by providing safe, affordable and supportive community housing and educational resources to empower each woman to become financially independent, regardless of her circumstances.

Today is World Homeless Day, with the aim of bringing awareness to preventing and ending homelessness and alleviating the suffering of those experiencing it.

100% of Jubilee program participants have entered into our houses from homelessness. This is our work, and has been for over twenty-five years.

At Jubilee, we create a place of belonging where program participants, staff, and supporters build meaningful connections and make change together.

Thanks to our generous donors and volunteers, the second annual Luxe Sale was a tremendous success!

Together, we raised more than $33,000 — an extraordinary show of generosity that will make a meaningful difference for the women who receive essential needs support through Jubilee’s Free Clothing Boutique.

From the moment the doors opened, the day was filled with excitement, connection, and community. Every purchase, donation, volunteer hour, and shared invitation played a part in making this event possible and expanding Jubilee’s ability to provide low-income women with beautiful, quality clothing and essential items at no cost.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

A primary obstacle to safety for survivors of domestic violence is economic insecurity, including the inability to afford or secure housing. We at Jubilee have had many survivors of domestic violence come through our doors at periods in their lives when these women had few to no other choices. Housing and personal safety were and continue to be the priority.

We honor survivors while continuing to work on programming that will help women heal and move on. Women should be able to leave abusive relationships without worrying about where they’ll live.

At Jubilee, we believe that finding stable employment can be an important step toward greater independence. With support from their case manager, participants can build the skills and confidence they need to pursue living-wage careers—from computer and communication skills to resume and cover letter writing and interview preparation.

We’re proud to walk alongside our participants as they work toward their goals and take the next steps in their journey.

Once a month we take a field trip to a more accessible and affordable grocery store so our program participants can stretch their limited funds, while still accessing healthy options.

It may not even be October, but on our latest run, we got a jump-start to spooky season and grabbed some Halloween decor for the house!

Who doesn't love pizza night? We recently had a fun pizza night using veggies from our very own garden! Residents and volunteers have really worked hard in creating and sustaining the Jubilee garden this summer, and we are so grateful and impressed!

Hispanic Heritage Month honors Hispanic and Latina/Latinx/Latino Americans' experience in this country. It is a time to reflect on the past and the present, the difficult and the beautiful.

We at Jubilee have had residents, staff, and volunteers that are part of this group and we would not be where we are today without their enduring contributions to this program.

We love City Fruit! They recently set up a table for our residents and boutique shoppers! They often donate fresh local fruit to Jubilee, and they do such great work in the community!
