The field trips are not always about the big attraction; sometimes it's just getting to stop at the park while waiting for the bus to come back to pick everyone up.

Big smiles. Silly faces. Everyone packed in together in the shade, just enjoying the moment.

These are the days young people talk about long after summer ends.
The friends they made. The places they went. The way it felt to belong.

☀️ Summer Camp registration is open now.

📅 School year registration opens April 25, with programs open to all families.

What’s the best part of summer camp?

For some of our teen leaders, it’s doing arts and crafts with the kids, the field trips, and the memories they’ve made year after year at the Club.

Many of these teens started as campers themselves and now help create the same fun experiences for the next group of young people.

Ready to make this summer unforgettable?

☀️ Register for summer camp today. Spots are filling fast.

Yesterday, the Ballard Boys & Girls Club proudly served as the host site for the 36th Legislative District Mid-Session Town Hall.

Community members gathered alongside our local elected officials — Senator Noel Frame , Rep. Julia Reed , and Representative Liz Berry for a thoughtful and engaging discussion about the issues shaping our district and state.

Legislators responded to questions on a wide range of topics, including affordability, immigration enforcement protocols, voting rights protections, community safety, sustainability and plastic pollution, higher education and financial aid, child care access, special education and disability funding, and law enforcement credentialing.

We were honored to welcome more than 100 community members, including. King County Councilmember Jorge L. Barón , who joined neighbors and families in this important conversation.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event a success. Meaningful civic engagement strengthens our communities — and we are proud our 33 Clubs across 11 legislative districts can continue to serve as a space where dialogue, connection, and collaboration can thrive regardless of age or zip code.

Child care helps kids stay safe, supported, and engaged after school — and it helps families thrive.

As lawmakers finalize Washington’s 2026 operating budget, decisions being made now will shape access to Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) and youth programs across the state.

It only takes a few minutes to share your voice. Visit our website for a step-by-step guide to contacting your legislators and supporting child care access for Washington families. 🔗https://positiveplace.org/a-safe-space-only-matters-if-kids-can-access-it/

Together, we can help keep safe spaces accessible to every child who needs one.
