🍂 Fall is here, and Halloween is just around the corner, so join us for our first Pumpkin Patch at HPIC!

We are partnering with to bring the fall vibes to our neighborhood.

🎃 Pay what you can- pumpkins will be available for purchase on a sliding scale.

📸 We'll also have a fall photo opportunity with straw-bales and corn stalks.

📢 As Meleah wraps up her internship with HPIC, we’d love to help connect her with what’s next. 🙌

Over the past several months, Meleah has done great work supporting HPIC’s social media, digital communications, event promotion, and community engagement. She’s brought creativity, thoughtfulness, and a genuine interest in using communications to help organizations build stronger connections with their communities.

Now, she’s looking for a role in communications, digital marketing, community engagement/outreach, or DEI, ideally with a nonprofit, community-based, education, arts and culture, or other mission-driven organization.

And we know our community knows a lot of people. 💛

That’s a wrap on another First Friday season! Thank you, Highland Park!❤️

Before we officially close out the season, we want to take a moment to celebrate what our community made possible this summer.☀️✨

Over the course of 6 First Fridays, we welcomed approximately 1,785 neighbors, brought 17 local bands/artists to Highland Park, partnered with 6 local organizations/businesses, and hosted everything from mural-making and stone carving to game nights, karaoke, live music, a pie bake-off, and delicious food from local vendors.

And behind all of it were 70+ incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, ideas, muscles, creativity, and definitely a little bit of sweat to make these events happen.

First Friday is about more than having something fun to do on a Friday night. It’s about creating a place where neighbors can meet each other, reconnect, try something new, bring their kids, bring their friends, and feel a little more connected to the community we share.

Whether this was your first First Friday or you’ve been part of HPIC for years, thank you for being part of it.

And an especially big thank you to every volunteer, musician, partner, vendor, and neighbor who helped make this season happen. We couldn’t do it without you!!❤️

💛 Neighbors! You’ve probably seen HPIC signs around the neighborhood. But the truth is, plenty of our neighbors still don’t know what HPIC is, what those signs represent, or why they might be interested.

Let’s change that!

🎶 TWO LIVE BANDS
Jed Zeppelin kicks things off with Led Zeppelin classics reimagined with bluegrass instrumentation, followed by Disco Cowboys, putting a country spin on disco + funk.

🍗 FOOD
Chick’n Fix will be serving up Filipino-American favorites all evening.

🎲✨We had such a fun Game Night at HPIC last Friday, with everyone bringing their favorite games and helping create a welcoming space to connect, laugh, and have a good time. 💛

A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make the evening possible! We’re also so grateful to Birch Pereira for keeping the night lively with their awesome live music 🎶 and to Levantine cuisine for joining us and serving up delicious food! 🍽️

Thank you again to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable night. We can’t wait to see you at the LAST First Friday of the year, next month on September 4th!🎉

HPIC! Let’s help our friends at Highland Park Elementary PTA bring new life to their beloved street mural!

🗓️Saturday, August 15th
⏰9am-12pm
📍Cloverdale St. & 11th Ave SW

Originally designed in 2018 through a collaboration between a local artist, Highland Park Elementary students and families, and the Duwamish Tribe, this mural has been a vibrant symbol of our community for six years. Now it’s time to give it a fresh coat of paint— and maybe even add some jumping salmon! 🐟

In addition to painting, volunteers will help with site prep and cleanup before and after the mural is refreshed. There will be music, drinks, and plenty of opportunities to connect with neighbors while making a lasting impact on our community.

Note: The street will remain closed until the paint is dry (around 2-3pm)

🎲 Game Night is coming to First Friday!

Summer is the perfect time to get outside, connect with your neighbors, and just play. Remember play? (Sigh) 🤣

Bring your favorite quick-to-learn card, tabletop, or yard game and share it with someone new. Challenge a friend to co****le or Tetris XL, dance to the swing sounds of Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints, grab dinner from Levantine Cuisine, and cool off with a sweet treat.🍦
