Save the date! On May 29th, we celebrate the accomplishments of more than 15 remarkable seniors -- our scholarship recipients from South Seattle high schools -- at our MLK, Jr. Scholarship Fund Awards Ceremony at the Mount Baker Community Club.

Serving on the MLK Jr. Scholarship committee is a low-commitment, rewarding way to connect with south end neighbors through once-a-month meetings and small projects in outreach, fundraising, scholar selection, communications, treasurer support, and/or event planning. Applications are open now for the Class of 2025! Please help spread the word to high school seniors - this scholarship is an *amazing* opportunity for local kids. We award several scholarships each year worth up to $16,000 each (distributed over four years of college). Students must live or attend school in South Seattle, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, identify as a member of a racial or ethnic group underrepresented in higher education, meet income guidelines, and be planning to attend college full-time next year. Please see the link for more details about eligiblity and how to apply. Applications are open now and are due January 31st. Please help us spread the word! This scholarship is for students attending eligible Seattle high schools who show financial need and academic promise, have overcome obstacles, and who contribute to their community. The scholarship is limited to students from ethnic or racial groups that are underrepresented in higher education.

In honor of all the scholars still awaiting their financial aid packages to determine if they can afford to go to college next year, please consider a donation to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Fund. This year we'll be providing renewable scholarships of $4K per year to NINE college-bound students from south Seattle representing racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in higher education.
