Our passion to change the world doesn’t end when the conference does.

It lives in the ways we show up for survivors.
The ways we stand beside one another.
The ways we build safer communities, challenge harm, and keep choosing connection—even when the work is hard.

Advocacy is loving out loud.

Thank you to every advocate, survivor, speaker, partner, and community member who brought your wisdom, your stories, and your whole selves into this space.

Take that love with you. Take it back to your organizations, your communities, and the people you serve.

When a young person is experiencing abuse at home, having a safe adult they can turn to can be lifesaving.

In new reporting from The Spokesman-Review on Initiative IL26-001, our Public Policy Director Roshelle Cleland explains why we’re concerned about what the measure could mean for young people seeking help:

“For a child that is being abused, knowing that a disclosure could immediately reach the person they are afraid of can be the difference between speaking and staying silent.”

As Washington voters consider IL26-001 this November, we want to keep the safety of young people at the center of the conversation. That's why we encourage Washington to VOTE NO.

OLYMPIA – As students across the state settle into a new school year, Washingtonians will soon weigh in on a three-year policy debate over which student information K-12 schools must disclose to parents and when.

⭐️ DAY OF ACTION ⭐️ Survivor services need stable funding. Congress can act now.

For years, declining federal VOCA funding has forced domestic violence and s*xual assault programs to do more with less — cutting services, losing staff, and stretching already-limited resources even further.

Today is a National Day of Action for the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act, a bipartisan bill that would help stabilize the fund that supports survivor services across Washington and the country.

The House has already passed the bill. Now we’re calling on the Senate to act.

Survivors shouldn’t have to wonder whether help will be there when they need it. Stable funding for survivor services is part of building safer communities.

A new proposed initiative in Washington State, IL26-638, claims to protect girls in sports. But doctors, parents, coaches, and student athletes are raising serious concerns about what it could actually mean for Washington kids.

IL26-638 would require girls who play school sports to prove their s*x at birth through genetic or hormone testing, or an exam of their reproductive anatomy.

These tests aren’t part of a normal sports physical and doctors say they aren’t medically necessary.

Instead of protecting girls, IL26-638 puts girls' privacy and bodily autonomy at risk, all to exclude a small number of transgender young people from playing sports with their peers.

Girls deserve better than having their bodies questioned and scrutinized just to play a sport they love.

The Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault opposes IL26-638.
