We are overdue for sharing an update! Here are some recent highlights.

1) This may be our last photo with our first beloved clinic truck. After many months of repairs and constant jump starts, two trusted mechanics have suggested we sell it and purchase something more reliable. We are currently borrowing a van from our friends at Fixers Collective (thank you!!) so that we can continue to operate clinics, but it isn’t nearly large enough for what we need to carry and we will need help from the community to purchase a new vehicle and return to our full scale of operations. Please click the link in bio or comments to donate!

2) A good boy named Bob received his neuter surgery at our recent clinic with Fixers Collective and Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary and was so happy to get back in the car with dad.

3) Chewy is a ~10 year old boy who recently visited us at Puget Sound Pet Food Bank for his annual exam and updated vaccines.

4) Louis visits our clinics with Puyallup Tribe of Indians and Ramona Bennett regularly. He came to see us yesterday to have an ear infection cleaned and treated.

5) Honey is pictured being extremely silly during her ear cleaning and treatment. We have seen Honey three times to complete her vaccine series and treat her ears. She is scheduled to be spayed at the end of the month.

6) Gaston is a group project! He received his neuter at Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project where he was found to have a mass that needed removal and a condition called Entropion where the eyelids turn inward and irritate the eyes. He received surgery for both at our recent clinic with Fixers Collective and Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary. Washington Health Outreach sent his mass to the lab to provide a biopsy and diagnosis for the owner. It was cancerous, but was removed with clear margins so the surgery was likely curative. We are all wishing Gaston a long, happy, and much more comfortable life.

Thank you for supporting access to veterinary care! Please consider a donation to help us continue this work with a vehicle that can be as reliable as we have strived to be in our communities. ❤️🩶🐾

We provided spay and neuter services for 23 cats yesterday and transported more than half of them to the clinic from their homes or neighborhoods. Thanks to Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project for providing the surgeries at a low cost and for their extra care for a feral cat (Bubba) from Pierce County who received surgical correction for Entropion in both eyes - meaning his eyelids turned inward and rubbed against his corneas causing irritation and infections.

Pictured in order:

We hate to cancel so last minute, but Ballard Food Bank will be unexpectedly closed tomorrow and we are unable to host our clinic with them. Please reach out to us if you have an urgent need! We will be contacting our clients who were scheduled for booster vaccinations tomorrow to make alternate plans with you. Thank you for your understanding. ❤️

Yesterday was a big day for 8 of our Pierce County patients! Fixers Collective provided free spay and neuter surgeries for 5 dogs and 3 cats from our waiting list, including the sweet little guy pictured in the first and second photos. We provided care for him and all of his siblings and parents last month at our wellness clinic with Puget Sound Pet Food Bank and our veterinarian diagnosed a scrotal hernia that needed surgical correction.

His surgery was more complicated because of the hernia, but the surgeon was able to correct it at the time of his neuter. He also received his booster vaccinations. This kind of surgery would have been out of reach financially for the family to access at a regular clinic, but was so important for the long term health and development of this sweet puppy. We also spayed his mom to prevent additional litters (photo 6) and will see him again in March to finish up his vaccines and recheck him to make sure the hernia doesn’t recur.

Thank you for helping us provide this access to care! ❤️🩶🐾

We helped 17 cats access spay/neuter surgeries yesterday! Thanks to Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project for providing the appointments and to Puyallup Tribe of Indians and the Gary Milgard Foundation for providing the funding for their surgeries and treatments. We also have an 18th cat getting neutered today after his owner went to the wrong location by accident yesterday - we are so grateful to Feral Cat Project for accommodating them a day late to ensure they could get in.

Every one of these cats in our community is now fixed, current on vaccinations, parasite free, and microchipped, at no cost to their owners who were unable to pay for these services. Many were transported to and from the clinic by our volunteers.

In solidarity with working people and immigrants, who make up the majority of the neighbors we provide services for, we have closed our account with Amazon - including our online wishlist. We encourage donors to continue to give using our Chewy wishlist, which is linked on the donation page of our website and in the comments.

As a reminder, Washington Health Outreach does not collect identification or information about immigration status, nor do we require documentation about income or benefits. If you meet our income guidelines as published on the schedule page of our website, you are always welcome at our clinics and you will be protected at our clinics by our team and community. If you have safety concerns about leaving your home and need help getting a pet to us for care, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.

Thank you to all who have trusted us with the care of your beloved pets - it is an honor to be able to provide them with these vital services. ❤️🩶🐾

Our team enjoyed a much needed break over the holidays, but it has been a pleasure to be back out in the community providing services for people and pets!

Last week, we collaborated with Fixers Collective and Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary to provide spay and neuter services for some of our patients. Pictured in order:
1. Bobby, a community cat from Tacoma who has been getting into fights with other cats. Now neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, ear tipped, and treated for parasites, Bobby will enjoy a much happier and healthier life in his neighborhood and will continue to receive care and heated shelter from his beloved caregiver.
2. Sky, a pug from the Puyallup Tribe community in Tacoma who has been visiting our clinics to complete her puppy vaccines, microchip, and parasite treatments. She had just started her first heat cycle.
3. Mamas and Princess, teen kittens from the same family as Sky, who have been visiting our clinics to complete their kitten vaccine series, microchips, parasite treatments, and treatment for Mamas’s ear hematomas which have since resolved.
4 & 5. The last puppies from a home where the owners had gotten overwhelmed with too many pets and surrendered 27 of them to us. These lucky puppies have been growing up and working on their socialization in foster care with Dog Gone Rescue - thank you Dog Gone for taking all six of the dogs from this situation! We are so grateful for the support.
6. Not pictured: Zoe, a sweet little 1.5 year old cat who has already had 3 litters in her short life. Her family was so relieved to finally be able to access her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and parasite treatments free of charge. We will see Zoe back at an upcoming wellness clinic for her last vaccine booster.

We have already had three wellness clinics this year and our operations are back in full swing! Our team is looking forward to providing a lot more community care in 2026. ❤️🩶🐾

We saw 39 patients for care with two vets at Renton Library today! Raven-O, the beautiful black cat pictured, visited us for vaccines and parasite treatments. Thanks to all who support our clinics, and a special shoutout to all the volunteers who come to our busiest location in Renton to make sure no one leaves empty handed! ❤️🩶🐾

It’s another great day to spay and neuter cats from low income families in Pierce County! 11 kitties were dropped off with Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project at South County Cats in Renton bright and early this morning, and their humans are so happy not to worry about litters of kittens this holiday season. Thank you for making this work possible!

We are so grateful for everyone who contributed to and shared our fundraiser! Thanks to community support, we have reached our fundraising goal and our programs will continue to be offered into the new year.

Swipe to see some of the friends your dollars have supported just today! We were up at 5am to collect kitties from owners in Pierce County and transport them to the spay clinic in Renton - thanks to South County Cats for the space and Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project for the appointments!

These surgery runs are always full of surprises - this morning we did a last minute house call to pick up a cat from an owner who overslept his alarm, and we worked with a caseworker and her client in transitional housing who recently suffered from a stroke and has severe short term memory loss. Later today, we will deliver them all back to their people. We always do our best to meet people where they’re at and help them overcome whatever barriers there are to accessing veterinary care for their pets.

In order of appearance: Baby Boy, Koose, Kitty, Lil Bootsie, and Handsome. These male cats have been causing all kinds of trouble with spraying and picking fights at home, so we are really happy to be able to offer them neuter services! Thank you all for making this possible! ❤️🩶🐾
