On January 26, 2026, the Seattle Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. partnered with Good Health Wins to present Care Cups for Healthy Homes at Benson Hill Elementary School, supporting a Special Needs classroom and their families.
Through this school-based health initiative, Sorors provided students and parents with Care Cups designed to encourage healthy habits at home and in the classroom. Each cup included a honey stick, lip balm, hand sanitizer, tea bag, Emergen-C, a disposable face mask, and disposable thermometers— practical tools supporting prevention, comfort, and wellness.
In addition to the Care Cups, the classroom received a donated wellness kit, including a
400-piece first aid kit and N95 masks to support ongoing health and safety needs.
The impact of the program extended beyond the day of service. Inspired by the Care Cups and health education materials, the classroom teacher created a lesson plan and student newsletter focused on healthy bodies and wellness practices. In a message of appreciation, the teacher shared, “This makes me so emotional because these kids are oftentimes forgotten about and are really excited to learn about keeping their bodies healthy.”
Care Cups for Healthy Homes reflects Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc’s commitment to health equity, service, and meeting communities where they are-ensuring every child is seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.
