Please consider providing public testimony at the King County Council Meeting today, Tuesday 9/27 at 1pm.
This is an important meeting as the King County Council is releasing their budget and Joe McDermott, who is the budget chair needs to consider Chinatown International District's public safety. Also Joe McDermott was the one who proposed the ordinance for the $54M lease May 3.
Regardless of where you stand on this shelter we must allow the community's voices to be heard and we must advocate for a public safety plan to protect everyone in the CID.
In person: You may attend the meeting in person in Council Chambers. We will be meeting at Hing Hay Park at 11:45am. We will be leading a March for those who can walk to the Courthouse. There will be a shuttle bus who will be making trips from the park to the courthouse from 11:45am-2:45pm for those who are using canes and walkers.
