🇭🇹 Displaced. Vulnerable. In Need of Care.

Haiti’s children and families are facing a growing crisis.

According to a UNICEF “Child Alert” published on 8 October 2025, 680,000 children — nearly 1 in 7 — have been displaced as violence continues to ravage communities.

Many children and families are living in overcrowded shelters or informal settlements with extremely limited access to clean water, food, and basic health care. The health system is collapsing in many areas, clinics are closing, and essential medical services are out of reach for huge swathes of the population.

CAFHAD’s mobile health teams are on the ground, bringing culturally competent medical care, essential medicines, and primary health services directly to displaced children and families. But the scale of need far exceeds what we can do alone.

Your support can help us:
• Provide urgent medical care to displaced children and families
• Supply essential medicines and health kits
• Support mothers, infants, and vulnerable communities facing worsening conditions

Donate Now to help us reach more children and families with the care they desperately need.

Dear Friend,
At CAFHAD, we are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for support. This December 28, 2024, we will be hosting our end-of-year health fair in the northern region of Haiti. Our goal is simple yet profound: to provide free health services, including medical consultations, laboratory tests, essential medications, and a warm meal for each patient who comes to us for care.

As you may be aware, the situation in Haiti has become increasingly dire. With flights suspended and gangs controlling much of the country, the people of Haiti are living in constant uncertainty. Thousands of individuals, displaced by violence and poverty, have sought refuge in other parts of the country with nothing but their most basic possessions.
While some communities in states, such as the Northern region where CAFHAD operates, have united to protect themselves against gangs, they are enduring significant challenges and hardship. Inflation is at its highest. The agricultural system, once a lifeline for the country, has collapsed, and now, Haiti faces an even more devastating crisis: a severe food shortage. With borders closed and inflation soaring, the majority of Haitians are unable to access basic necessities, including healthcare. For most, a visit to the doctor is a luxury they simply cannot afford.

This is where we, at CAFHAD, are making a difference. As a community-driven organization providing care *by Haitians, for Haitians*, we are doing everything we can to alleviate the suffering of those who need us most. But we cannot do it alone. We rely on compassionate individuals like you to help fund our initiatives, especially our free health fairs, which are often the only opportunity for many to receive medical attention.

This year, due to limited funding, we have faced significant challenges in meeting the needs of all the patients who seek our help. On several occasions, we have had to turn away 150 to 300 patients because we simply did not have enough staff, laboratory capacity, or medications to serve them. For the patients we were able to assist, we struggled to provide the timely and consistent follow-up care they desperately needed. Many cannot afford to visit private clinics, leaving them without the support they need to fully recover. These gaps in care are heartbreaking, and we are committed to overcoming them with your support.

In the year ahead, we hope and we are working to secure enough funding to expand our services, providing daily care to our communities, and offering sustainable support for our dedicated medical and administrative staff, who have made the selfless choice to stay in Haiti during this crisis.

Today, we are asking for your help. Your donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to supporting our end-of-year health fair and will make a world of difference for those in need. With your generosity, we can continue to provide essential care and offer hope to a population that has been forgotten by much of the world.

Thank you for considering our request. Your compassion and support are vital in these challenging times, and together, we can make a meaningful impact.

With deepest gratitude,

Dr. Sheila Mary,
CAFHAD’s Founder and CEO.
