🇮🇶 Mine action is crucial for humanitarian and development assistance in .
🛣️ Clearance of areas contaminated with unexploded ordnance across the liberated areas is essential for the internally displaced to facilitate voluntary and safe returns and to improve livelihoods for those previously internally displaced.
👏 UNMAS Iraq has worked as an enabler to support stabilization and humanitarian efforts with funding from the international community. This is done through explosive hazard management activities in the liberated areas and by supporting relevant national authorities as well as national operators.
🙌🏽 Over the last six years, the Government of has been a starch and essential supporter of UNMAS Iraq and has provided over USD 30 million in funding in support of UNMAS Iraq activities.
🇩🇰 In January 2022, the Danish Ambassador visited UNMAS Iraq operations in . The Ambassador was very impressed to see several clearance methodologies and tools being used concurrently at the site; including mechanical assets as well as manual and battle area clearance. He also had the opportunity to interact with the female and male members of the team working under difficult conditions.
🤝 UNMAS Iraq would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to the Government of for its continuous support throughout the past six years. The support has made a significant difference for the lives of Iraqi people affected by unexploded ordnance throughout the country. UNMAS looks forward to continued cooperation with the Government of Denmark.

إن الأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام ضرورية للمعونة الإنسانية والتطوير في العراق. حيث أن تطهير المناطق من التلوث بالمواد المتفجرة في المناطق المحررة أمر جوهري لتسهيل عودة النازحين بشكل طوعي واَمن وكذلك لتحسين سبل الحياة للعائدين. لعبت دائرة الأمم المتحدة للأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام دور المفعل في دعم الجهود الإنسانية والإستقرار بتمويل من المجتمع الدولي. تضمن هذا الدور أنشطة إدارة إزالة المخاطر المتفجرة في المناطق المحررة ودعم الجهات الحكومية ذات الصلة وكذلك الجهات المنفذة الوطنية.
على مدى السنوات الست الماضية ، كانت الحكومة الدنماركية داعمًا أساسيًا لدائرة الأمم المتحدة للأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام في العراق وقدمت ما يقارب 30 مليون دولار أمريكي لتمويل أنشطة الدائرة في العراق.
وفي مطلع العام الجاري في شهر كانون الثاني, زار سعادة سفير دولة الدنمارك موقع عمليات الدائرة في البصرة. إذ عبر سعادة السفير عن إعجابه برؤية مختلف اليات الازالة والادوات المستخدمة في الموقع والتي شملت اليات ازالة ويدوية وتطهير مناطق القتال. كما إلتقى سعادته مع الفريق الذي شمل عناصر نسوية وذكور والذين يعملون تحت ظروف صعبة.
تود دائرة الأمم المتحدة للأعمال المتعلقة بالألغام التعبير عن خالص تقديرها للحكومة الدنماركية لدعمها المتواصل على مدى السنوات الست الماضية. إذ كان لهذا الدعم الأثر الكبير في حياة المواطنين العراقيين المتأثرين بالمواد المتفجرة المنتشرة في شتى مناطق البلاد. تتطلع الدائرة قدماً لمزيد من التعاون مع الحكومة الدنماركية.
