Donating to our GlobalGiving page allows us to continue to partner with business owners like Danliti Abdullahi, whom we worked with last year. Living in Bauchi State, Nigeria, Danliti runs a cobbling business in Wunti Market where he repairs shoes, creates his own original shoes, and takes custom orders. Danliti is extremely community-oriented; he uses profits from his business to not only put his children through school, but often also donates shoes and helps pay for medicine or clean drinking water that someone in his community may be in need of. He is also currently training 10 apprentices in his craft for free.

Through Leadership Initiative’s Business and Development Program, the four of us were able to work with Danliti to overcome major obstacles preventing the growth of his business. Over the last school year, we focused on projects like coming up with an efficient and easy-to-use record-keeping system, creating a logo for his brand, and redesigning the interior of his store to better attract customers.

Allow us to continue to support people like Danliti by donating to our GlobalGiving page (link is in our bio). All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to helping local leaders in developing communities worldwide.

We are apart of the International Internship Program through Leadership Initiatives, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Washington, DC. Over the course of the next year, we will be working with small businesses in a developing community to solve the critical issues that prevent them from growing and succeeding. Through these efforts, we hope to spark grassroots change for these businesses and help them succeed.

As a part of the program, we are fundraising to expand the Leadership Initiatives Community Development Program to launch even more new initiatives in the future.
