The first requirement of every human being in the world is to obtain happiness 😍 in this world, and then in the hereafter, but we are often confused about the lifestyle and the optimal daily routine to achieve this desired happiness.

I will not explain much in the different styles and philosophies of life, but I will go directly to the philosophy of living recommended by the best human being who uttered the revelation Muhammad (saw).

This is where he (saw) guided us to: the mentality and philosophy by which a person should live in this world, which is the mentality of the traveler, who does not hope for long in this world, but rather lives within the limits of his day, so he does not grieve over what has passed, nor worry about what is to come.

This is what was narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar (ra), who said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) took me by the shoulder and said, “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a wayfarer.”

And Ibn Umar (ra) used to say, “In the evening do not expect [to live until] the morning, and in the morning do not expect [to live until] the evening. Take [advantage of] your health before times of sickness, and [take advantage of] your life before your death.” [Bukhari]

As we scroll through social media or watch the news it’s natural that we may become numb to all the tragedies in the world. Children are dying of hunger, families are torn apart due to natural disasters and fathers are killed in wars. Allah doesn’t expect you to solve all of the world’s problems but it is our duty to do our part, especially during these blessed days in Ramadan.

Right now there are over 150 million orphans around the world who have been neglected. Taking care of orphans is a pillar of our faith.
