Buenos días, comunidad! We are proud to partner with in gathering plant starts and gardening tools in solidarity with Skagit Valley Mutual Aid. All donations will be used to support their community garden, feeding many migrant and farmworker families in Skagit County. If you wish to donate money, please visit the link in our bio. Hello community! We have been quiet on this platform, but several actions are happening (community report for March & April coming out soon!). Our biggest action item right now is making cooling bands to protect farmworkers from heat stress (shout out to Yakima Valley Community Aid members for creating this pattern and sharing it with us). With temperatures already breaking records this spring, we know that this summer shall be hot and dangerous for the communities who pick our food. Join us this Saturday, May 9 from 1:00-3:00pm at Seattle Recreative Georgetown location (6521 5th Ave S., Seattle, 98108) in making cooling bands. What to bring? Yourself! And if you are able to, cotton fabric scarps/lengths and/or a sewing machine. We shall be providing hydrating beads. From experienced crafters to anyone with a willing pair of hands (we need help in cutting fabric or adding beads), your participation is needed and makes a difference. Not able to join on Saturday? Check our website (link in bio) for the cooling band pattern and donation drop off locations. Any financial donations this month shall go towards purchasing materials for cooling bands. Mil gracias in advance for your solidarity. No one should die picking our food. Farmworkers deserve safety, equity, and dignity— nothing less.

Capitol Hill community, please join us at the next Farmworker Solidarity Community Teach-In! We shall be at the Capitol Hill Library Branch on Saturday, February 21 from 11:00am-12:30. Come learn about the issues farmworkers in our state face and how they are fighting back. Come get unstuck and join the movement!
This is a free, all-ages and masked event. Masks will be provided. Thank you for taking care of each other.

¡Atención, atención! Washington farmworkers and labor organizers are set to make history. There are currently two companion bills (SB 6045 & HB 2409) that would make it possible for agricultural workers to organize and form a union if they wish. This would confront the decades of harm and abuse that many have endured due to the racist exclusion from the National Labor Relations Act of the 1930s (only farmworkers and domestic laborers are excluded). To quote then New York Representative Vito Marcantonio’s dissent, “[Excepting these workers would mean] a continuance of virtual slavery until the day of revolt” and that they should be able to “organize against the most outrageous exploitation in America.” The Agricultural Worker Collective Bargaining Act is not yet up for a vote, but we want to put the pressure on our legislatures now. Here are our reasons why:
1. Less than 25 legislatures attended the Farmworkers Tribunal in January 2026 (mostly their aides and the majority not from King County). If your representative or their office attended, then please thank them!
2. Laws such as farmworker overtime pay have been threatened even before it was fully in place. In the first year alone, there were multiple attempts to overturn this law by representatives on both side of the asile (including King County Democrats!). We must make it known to our legislatures that this bill matters to us and we are watching how they vote.
3. Agricultural industries have money and lobbyists on their side. In 2023, the industry made $14 billion dollars. We know that they have regular access to our legislatures and are behaving as corporate bosses do in every labor fight via intimidation tactics and evading accountability.
4. The safety, equity, and dignity of farmworkers impacts everyone who eats. We do not eat without the labor of farmworkers.

Good morning, community. The world is heavy but we hope that these updates will bring glimmers. First- we raised $815 at our Pachanga for farmworker flood relief! Mil gracias to our hosts, University Heights Center, all artists who performed, and everyone who attended. Many farmworkers who were forced to work through the floods, loosing their homes or dealing with significant loss due to flood damage or loss of work since. Farmworkers protected our food through a natural disaster— they deserve to be protected and their homes and safety restored. Upcoming efforts to support farmworkers include:
1. Winter clothing donation drive at Seattle Yarn: gathering hats, gloves, scarves, hoodies, sweatshirts, coats, new socks, and emergency hand & feed warmers (please no used socks or underwear!)
2. Community Conversation with Queen Anne Repair Cafe: come by Pipsqueak Gallery today (Sunday) from 1:30-4:30 to hear what we witnessed at the Farmworkers Tribunal, what actions the community is asking of us, and a larger conversation about protecting our neighbors.
3. Farmworker Solidarity Community Teach-In: We will be at the Capitol Hill Library on Saturday, February 21 from 11:00am-12:30pm. Come learn about the state of farmworker justice in WA and how you can take direct action.
4. ADELANTE! Fundraising Concert: Join us for music and community on Sunday, February 22 and Monday, February 23 at Seattle Public Theater. Doors 7:30, show 8:00pm. Tickets are PWYC (link in bio). All funds raised go to farmworker flood relief and Mutual Aid Sudan.
So much of this algorithm wants you to feel isolated and helpless. We are not. Every action ripples out— collective action makes a wave. Everyone has something of value to offer in building a world that provides safety, equity, and dignity for all.

Our first event of the year will be raising funds for farmworkers impacted by floods in Whatcom & Skagit counties via Join us for an evening of live performances and dancing at UHeights Center (5031 University Way NE, Seattle WA 98105) on Friday, January 16. Doors at 7:00pm, show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 presale and $25 at the door (ticket link in bio). Farmworker justice impacts everyone who eats- because without farmworkers there is no food. We hope to see you there in joyful and noisy solidarity for the communities who feed us.

Hello community! We hope that you are getting time to rest and cherish time with loved ones on this last Sunday of the year. We are so proud to share what this community was able to make possible during this year’s Heart of Washington Campaign. Every donation given, hour volunteered, or mile driven— it all added up and made it possible for us to feed 300 farmworkers and their families over the holidays. Thank you for making this the largest campaign ever. We do have flood response actions in the works, plus several of our community partners have extended their donation drives, please check the slides for more information and dates for fundraising events. Although we have events and actions planned for 2026, please note that our volunteer team is taking a pause for the remainder of the year until Wednesday, January 7. Thank you for all your hard work and solidarity. Let us keep finding light and hope through showing up for those who feed us in 2026. Solidarity forever.
