January Meeting - SeaHorse Travel Recap and Planning!

Our first club meeting of the year! Come on out and reconnect with your SeaHorse friends or make new friends. Not a member? Come see what it’s all about. Meetings are free and everybody is welcome. We’ll give a short overview of club events for 2024 and recap the travels from 2023 including our trip to Grand Cayman! Plus plan our next big trip 🥳

Wine Dive 2023 🍷
Todd Osborn took the direction, “Come back in less than an hour” to heart, as he raced out, collected 6 bottles (all his bag would hold), moved a couple of bottles so they’d be easier to find for other divers, and returned to the gathering point, including removing his fins and walking back, in 7 minutes and 20 seconds.

Fourteen bottles were placed, and fourteen bottles were found. A successful mission. Members shared their bounty and everybody who wanted some went home with some wine plus pizza!

It’s official! Grand Prize for the 2023 Photo Contest will be a 2-Tank Charter with 😍👌🏻 a favorite among our members and an awesome captain/crew to take you on underwater adventures in the Hood Canal!

Congrats to our member, Ed Gullekson, on submitting his 1,000th REEF Survey! 😍🐟 This makes him a member of the Golden Hamlet Club with

“Ed started surveying in 2009, and conducted his 1,000th survey at Mukilteo T-dock in Puget Sound. Most of his surveys have been conducted in cold water, so to acknowledge this, we presented him with a "Golden Lumpsucker Award"

Ed has surveyed in the Pacific Northwest, Tropical Western Atlantic, and Tropical Eastern Pacific regions. He describes himself as a "shark ju**ie" and loves every type of shark, as well as shark relatives like rays and ratfish.”
