Dr. Eliseo’s update from the highlands of Guatemala.

Meet Dr. Eliseo Pelico, the only 24‑hour urgent care provider in Aldea Pitzal, and one of the few clinicians in the entire region fluent in K’iche’, Spanish, and English. His ability to speak to his community in their own language isn’t just a skill; it’s a lifeline.

With your support, we delivered a Philips HD11 ultrasound system to his clinic, giving families access to early diagnosis, maternal care, and chronic disease monitoring without having to travel for hours or pay exorbitant fees. While private clinics often charge Q300 ($40 USD) per visit, Dr. Pelico charges just Q25 ($3 USD) to keep care accessible for everyone.

The Pan-American Medical Association has also integrated a full EMR system and K’iche-language translation services so patients can receive dignified, ethical, and continuous care.

This is what real equity looks like: local leadership, Indigenous language, and tools that save lives.

Dr. Pelico’s success is already transforming his community. And this is only the beginning.

In solidarity with Cuba!
We are thrilled to announce that our medical mission to supply Cuba is a go. Thanks to our incredible coalition, we have received over 42 PALLETS of life-saving medical supplies.

Next March, we are sending a shipment of emergency aid to the hospitals and clinics that need it most.

From surgical sutures to neonatal care, these supplies are the bridge between crisis and care. In these trying times, we stand with the Cuban people, not just in words, but in action.

Today we celebrate a milestone of solidarity! 1 million dollars of medical supplies shipped.

Thanks to your unwavering support, our coalition has sent over $1 million worth of medical supplies to Cuba. This shipment includes oral rehydration salts, water purification tablets, and painkillers, reaching families most affected by the hurricane.

We were fully funded, and together we turned compassion into action.

From all of us, and from the people of Cuba, thank you. Your solidarity saves lives. Wishing you and your loved ones peace and joy this holiday season.

This Thanksgiving, we are filled with gratitude. Thanks to your unwavering support, our coalition has reached 100% of our fundraising goal. Together, we secured the resources to purchase oral rehydration salts, water purification tablets, analgesics for children and adults in Cuba and more than $800,000 worth of medical care supplies, helping to combat the chikungunya epidemic and bring relief in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

We are deeply grateful, not only from our coalition, but from the people of Cuba whose lives will be touched by this aid. Your solidarity has made this possible. Our supplies will be palletized and ready to ship on December 10th, 2025. Scheduled to arrive in the hurricane affected regions by the end of the year, Congratulations!

Cuba Hurricane Relief Shipment Update

We are almost ready to send our December 2025 container of medical aid to Cuba. This shipment includes over 6,000+ units of life-saving supplies—from acetaminophen and IV fluids to CPAP machines, biopsy instruments, neonatal kits, and patient care essentials.

Impact Snapshot:

• 642 healthcare institutions damaged
• 700,000 people evacuated, lives saved
• $250,000 worth of medical supplies prepared
• 58% of our $20,000 fundraising goal reached

This is a coalition effort led by the Pan American Medical Association (PAMA), in solidarity with Global Health partners and the U.S. Hands Off Cuba Committee.

Together, we are mobilizing ORS packets and water purification tablets to prevent dehydration and waterborne illness in the hardest-hit provinces.
