The Swim Safely Series made its way to Honolulu, and the Rainbow Warrior and Rainbow Wahine swimmers showed up in the best way, side by side with our participants, patient, steady, and celebrating every small win. 💪🏽🌺☺️

Our Executive Director, , was there all week capturing video of what this work looks like in real time, which is often kids arriving unsure and leaving with new skills, more confidence, and a stronger relationship with the water. 🌊

Mahalo to the entire University of Hawai'i at Mānoa Swimming & Diving family. To the coaches, athletes, and every volunteer who made this week possible… thank you!!! 🫶🏽

This Hispanic Heritage month, we’re celebrating the families and athletes helping make water safety more accessible. 💙

Nearly a third of families in our 2025–26 Swim Safely Series identified as Hispanic or Latino. This year, every series has included Spanish-speaking athletes on deck, helping kids and families learn in the language they feel most comfortable using. Bilingual swim lessons can help break barriers for both the swimmers and their parents, ensuring everyone can understand the importance of water safety. 👍🏽

Access isn’t only a pool and a lesson. It’s being understood while you learn. ☝🏽

To the families who’ve trusted us with their kids, and the athletes who taught in the language those kids grew up with: gracias! This work is better because of you. 💙

👏🏽 Congratulations to our Lifesaver Award winners from this year’s Ripples of Hope celebration: Bacon Family Foundation, Arya Mansourzadeh, and lakesafeinitiative!!! 🏆

Whether it’s the Bacon Family supporting the Bellevue (WA) Fire Dept with critical jet ski equipment for water rescues, Arya and his work as both a water safety advocate and first responder, or the youth-led LakeSafe Initiative that’s saving lives through awareness, action, and community… they saw a gap and refused to wait for someone else to fill it. It’s this kind of action and work that doesn’t always make the news, but it absolutely saves lives. ☝🏽

🫶🏽 Thank you for making the water safer for everyone. We’re proud to stand alongside you in this critical mission. 🫂

Let’s talk about bath time during Baby Safety Month! 👶🏽🫧➡️

The theme this month is preparedness and we have a few tips that can help lower the risk of drowning during bath time… ➡️

🛁 Fill the tub less. Only use as much water as you need. Deeper isn’t safer.

⏰ Drain right away. The bath is over when the tub is empty, not when the baby is out.

👐🏾 Bath seats aren’t lifeguards. They can tip, and they don’t replace your hands holding your baby.

☝🏽 Gather everything first. Towel, soap, clean diaper. Everything that’s needed should be within arms reach before you start.

🗣️ September is National Preparedness Month!!! 🛟💙

☝🏾 Being prepared around water isn’t just about what you do before you get in, it’s also about being equipped with the right skills and tools to handle unexpected situations. 🛠️🤔

A little preparation can go a long way! ✨

Learn CPR, keep a throwable flotation device nearby, know your location, and make sure someone knows your plans before heading out on the water. 📲

Water safety is about building confidence, making a plan, and being ready to help if something unexpected happens. 😎

Wow, what a night! 💙✨

Our annual Ripples of Hope celebration brought together an incredible community in support of water safety and expanding access to swim lessons and education.

This year, we were especially proud to honor our lifesaver award recipients, Bacon Family Foundation, , and for the meaningful ways they are helping make our communities safer in and around the water. 🫶🏽

Thank you to everyone who joined us, raised a paddle, bid on an auction item, and continues to show up for this work. A huge thank you also goes to our incredible sponsors and partners who helped make the evening possible: Galya Kirstine | Bellevue Real Estate, Seattle Credit Union, and Talking Rain.

September is Baby Safety Month 👶🏽 and since water safety starts at home, now’s a great time to remind parents and caregivers that bath time is one of the first places we can build safe habits around water!! 🫧

What do safe habits mean exactly? For babies, that means constant, hands on supervision. If you need to leave the bathroom, even if it’s only for a few seconds, the baby comes with you or you assign a Water Watcher to take over duty. Distractions from doorbells, phones, or even family members are bound to happen.

The goal is to create simple and safe habits that become second nature. ☝🏾💙 Share this post to your stories to help spread awareness! 👍🏾
