Join us for Opening Minds through Art (OMA) and Music & Memories as new sessions start on June 1st in Edgewood at Mountain View Community Center and June 2nd in Tacoma at St. Mark's Lutheran Church by The Narrows. OMA and Music and Memories are engaging, art and music programs designed for people living with dementia and other neurocognitive challenges. Through guided art and music experiences, participants have the opportunity to express themselves creatively, build confidence, and connect with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Each week features a new art project and music themes, and no prior art or music experience is needed! We’re excited to offer a fun lineup of creative activities throughout the June/July session. Be sure to check out the attached project schedules for Tacoma and Edgewood to see what’s coming up.

Creativity was on full display at our recent Opening Minds through Art (OMA) art shows at St. Mark's Lutheran Church by The Narrows in Tacoma and Mountain View Community Center in Edgewood! 🎨✨

Over the past eight weeks, participants explored a variety of artistic techniques and materials while creating beautiful works of art inspired by projects like “Stained Glass Painting” and “Deep Sea Watercolor.” From foil and ink to sea salt and glitter, every project encouraged creativity, self-expression, and connection.

To celebrate the end of the session, each artist had a special piece featured during the art shows, with selected artwork being submitted to the International OMA Art Show hosted by Miami University this December.

We are so proud of our talented OMA artists and can’t wait for the next creative session beginning in June! 💙For more information or to sign up for OMA sessions call 253-722-5692 or email [email protected]
