This summer, Providence will be hiring a Clatsop WORKS student intern aged 16 or older for a hospital experience internship! Providence is interested in providing broad work experiences for students interested in healthcare fields. These are great entry-level internships for students with an eye toward a career in healthcare!

Last summer’s Providence intern, Carly (pictured), had this to say about her experience: "The best part of this internship has been learning from all of the experienced nurses in the different departments. They've shared so much knowledge and have given me helpful advice that will benefit me as I begin my nursing journey."

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range, Providence Seaside Hospital is the heart of Providence's north coast service area. Providence Seaside Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital with full accreditation by the Joint Commission that offers primary and specialty care, general surgery, radiology, diagnostic imaging, pathology and emergency medicine 24 hrs./7 days-a-week.

Excited to announce that once again Seaside Museum & Historical Society of Oregon will be offering a museum internship! The museum is a non-profit educational institution incorporated by the State of Oregon to collect, preserve and interpret materials illustrative of the history of Seaside, Oregon, and the surrounding area. Next summer, a lucky Clatsop County student will have the chance to intern with this great organization!

Last summer’s Museum intern Eva, pictured here, said her favorite experience was collaborating with the museum team to develop the inaugural Seaside Museum Dahlia Flower Show, a new event celebrating the significant role dahlias have played in Seaside's history. Working on that project gave her the opportunity to contribute creatively while learning how museums engage their communities through special events.

The Seaside Museum and Historical Society is home to a wide variety of exhibits and artifacts, including the historic Butterfield Cottage. The museum's collection includes photographs, documents, artifacts, and other materials that tell the story of the town's development from a remote beach village to a thriving tourist destination. The museum also offers educational programs, tours, and special events throughout the year.

The summer intern will gain skills and experience in a variety of operational areas in the museum such as visitor services, outreach, exhibits, artifacts and participating in events. The focus for this summer will be building the archive of the photograph collection. The Intern will be trained on digitizing, scanning, organizing and preserving the photographic collections of the museum. The Intern will also have the opportunity to gain customer service experience working with visitors, telling the stories of Seaside, operation of the museum store and other work with visitors and guests.

I’m excited to welcome back a new employer in our program – Maps Credit Union! As a member-owned financial cooperative, Maps is deeply invested in the communities where they live and work. To work at Maps is to join a culture infused with creativity, enthusiasm, and fun. They embrace their differences. They value people who are bold, driven, and genuine. They work hard, play hard, and love their community.

Next summer, Maps Credit Union is excited to offer two paid internship opportunities for students interested in learning more about the banking and credit union industry. They are seeking one intern for the Astoria Branch and one intern for the Seaside Branch. This internship provides hands-on experience in banking operations, customer service, and day-to-day credit union activities—all in a supportive, community-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in finance, business, sales, customer service, or community-based organizations.
One of last summer’s MAPS’s interns, Edwuard (pictured), had this to say about his experience “"The opportunity to work in a financial institution while also learning from professionals in different roles has given me a better understanding of how accounting and finance work together to support an organization. Job shadowing has been especially valuable because it has helped me connect what I'm learning in college to real-world applications."

Back again with their VERY popular wildlife internship, allow me to introduce The Wildlife Center of the North Coast, Astoria (WCNC)! Next summer, WCNC will be hiring two Clatsop WORKS student interns for Wildlife Rehabilitation & Care positions!! The students who have interned with this wonderful organization have given glowing reviews of their internship experience! Pictured is one of last summer’s interns, Olin, who said “Environmental conservation is very important to me and has served a major role in my life. This internship gave me an opportunity to pursue that passion and have a real impact on local conservation efforts.”

WCNC has been helping native wildlife and providing conservation education on the Oregon Coast for the last 25 years. Each year, WCNC helps an average of 1,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife patients return to their homes in the wild. WCNC is the only wildlife hospital on the north Oregon Coast and the only hospital in the state that specializes in seabird care.
Education programs include on and off-site school presentations, public open houses, a summer day camp program, community tabling events and live encounters with education ambassadors.

Thrilled to announce that long-time partner of the Clatsop WORKS program, Cannon Beach Police Department (CBPD) will be offering their very popular law enforcement internships next summer! CBPD will be hiring Clatsop WORKS student interns ages 16 and older as Parking Information Aide Officer Interns. This internship position includes using a bicycle to: patrol, provide directions and information to visitors, and advise drivers of parking regulations. Additional duties include keeping track of available parking, issuing parking violation warnings and citations, appearing in court if parking citation is contested, assisting the fire department with traffic control, and keeping a daily logbook.

If you are thinking of a career in Law Enforcement this is a great way to start learning!

Pictured is one of our 2026 CBPD interns, Jeremiah, who said that “The chance to work alongside officers, assist the public, and develop new skills makes this an exciting opportunity for me!”

The CBPD is dedicated to providing services which improve quality of life by protecting life and property, maintaining order, and reducing crime and disorder through education and prevention.

Pictured is a previous Rickenbach intern, Owen, who said that the best part of the internship was working in a hands-on job, and learning what it is like in the field of construction.

Help me welcome back Caffe Latte Coffee & Gift Shop of Seaside for their 2nd year in the program! Caffe Latte has been in business at the downtown Seaside Carousel mall for over 30 years; providing an exceptional experience for coffee lovers, mug collectors, locals and tourists.

The internship at Caffe Latte will benefit students with an interest in gaining customer service, barista, business management, and retail skills in a small business environment. Skills and experience a student will learn include Food and beverage quality and safety, Customer service and satisfaction, The language and art of coffee, Running a cash register and credit card machine, Building customer relations, Time management, Multitasking, Knowledge of espresso, sales, profit, inventory and so much more!

So excited to welcome back Seaside Police Department (SPD) for their third summer! SPD will be hiring up to three Clatsop WORKS student interns aged 16 and older for Parking Officer Internships!

Malia, a two-time Clatsop WORKS Seaside Police Intern said “This internship offered a chance to uplift communities while gaining leadership skills in the process, and aligned with my passion for making a difference and helping others in a meaningful and impactful way.”

The SPD intern will receive an orientation to the Seaside Police Department, including parking enforcement duties and visitor information. To experience all law enforcement areas of the department, the intern will be assigned ride-along time in dispatch and patrol divisions as an observer. Duties will include Using a bicycle for parking patrol, Providing directions and information, Advising drivers of parking regulations, Asking drivers to move vehicles to proper parking locations, Keeping track of available parking spaces, Directing drivers to available spaces, Issuing parking violation warnings and citations, Appearing in court when a parking citation is contested, Assisting Police Officers with investigations and emergencies, and Assisting the Fire Department with traffic control.

Please welcome back Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare! At Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare (CBH), they believe that the character of a community is found in how it cares for its most vulnerable populations. From services for mental health, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities to housing resources for those who need a hand-up in life – CBH is leading the change in Clatsop County!

Next summer, one or two lucky Clatsop WORKS student interns will have the chance to work with this great organization as a Social Services Admin Intern! This will be a valuable learning experience for any student interested in either administrative work or a career in social services.

Last summer’s CBH intern, Ana (pictured), said this internship gave her a firsthand look at the day-to-day operations of a behavioral health organization while allowing her to contribute to important marketing and administrative projects that support the agency's mission.

They’ve been with us from the beginning and their internships are consistently rated with top marks by the student interns; let’s hear it for The Haystack Rock Awareness Program of City of Cannon Beach (HRAP)!

Next summer, HRAP will be hiring two Clatsop WORKS student interns as Junior Rocky Shore Interpreters!! Our past interns have raved about working outdoors, meeting new people, creating close friendships with coworkers, developing interpersonal communication skills, and learning more than they thought possible about intertidal and bird life here on the Oregon Coast.

The HRAP mission is to protect the intertidal and bird life of the Marine Garden and Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock through education.

Interns educate the public about intertidal and seabird ecology during low tide hours at Haystack Rock; promote natural resource conservation and stewardship; redirect visitors engaging in prohibited activities; set-up and break down HRAP’s education units; collect accurate data; participate in program events and maintain equipment off the beach. Beach schedule varies daily around low tide; therefore, applicants must be willing to work early mornings, midday, evenings, and weekends.
