We're excited to see another local student gaining hands-on career experience through Clatsop WORKS!

Congratulations to Viola Phillips on her paid Teaching Artist Internship with Kids Make Theater this summer. Through this work-based learning opportunity, Viola will be actively learning alongside KMT's Teaching Artists while supporting all six summer camps.

Viola's passion for theater, combined with her experience at Astoria High School Theater and in community productions, makes this an incredible opportunity for growth and exploration in the arts.

Thank you to Kids Make Theatre for partnering with Clatsop WORKS and investing in the next generation of creative talent. We can't wait to see all that Viola accomplishes this summer!

We have some big news at Kids Make Theatre — we're hosting our very first summer intern!

Viola Phillips is joining us this summer through Clatsop WORKS for a paid Teaching Artist Internship. It's a work-based learning placement, which means she won't be watching from the sidelines — she'll be learning in action alongside our Teaching Artists for all six of our summer camps!

Viola is wrapping up her sophomore year at Astoria High School Theater and she's been part of community theater since elementary school. Most recently she's been working as an assistant stage manager for AHS productions. She loves theater for the connection and the experiences it brings.

This is our first time hosting an intern with Clatsop WORKS, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome Viola to the KMT Team!

🎓 57 student interns hired — our biggest cohort to date!
💼 245 interview requests sent — demonstrating incredible employer engagement!
⭐ 85% of applicants received at least one interview request!

Applications are now open for the Medical Assistant Internship Program with CMH and the CMH-(OHSU) Medical Group. The next intern cohort will start in June.

The program is a paid six-month internship with the curriculum and hands-on clinical hours to obtain a medical assistant certification. It is made up of half classroom instruction through the U.S. Career Institute and half hands-on training in clinics. Interns will be full-time employees of CMH and will be eligible for benefits.

Nizina (Izi) was one of our fabulous Clatsop WORKS interns last summer with Haystack Rock Awareness Program !
Congratulations on your scholarship award, Izi!

Congratulations to Astoria High School Students Nizina Cook and Quin Gohr for earning the Oregon State University Presidential Scholarship, OSU’s most prestigious and competitive scholarship for incoming freshmen.

This award recognizes students for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership, service, and overall potential. The scholarship provides up to $10,000 per year for up to four years, supporting exceptional Oregon students as they pursue their education at Oregon State University.

We are incredibly proud of Nizina and Quin and look forward to seeing all they accomplish as future Beavers!
