Ciclovia 2026!🚲💚

Thank you for having us Ciclovia Salinas! Our HSP staff and service learners loved having the opportunity to connect with the community by educating about HSP’s mission and how to get involved! 🌱

Such a beautiful day of community and celebration at the Ensen Park Grand Opening!🎉🌿

Habitat Stewardship Project staff and service learners had a wonderful time leading the public through a native plant scavenger hunt and vision boarding activity where people shared their hopes for the future of Ensen Park🌱✏️

The trails of Ensen Park are now open to the public! Walk the trails and take in the beauty that took years of hard work, collaboration, and care!💚

California Coastal Clean Up Event at Upper Carr Lake was a huge success! We had 52 volunteers come out and remove 618 pounds of trash from the environment!🤩

Thank you so much for all your hard work to keep our community clean💪

Community volunteer events are back for the season!🎉

Join Habitat Stewardship Project on Saturday, September 19th from 9 am-12 pm as we participate in the annual CA Coastal Cleanup Day with a trash cleanup at Upper Carr Lake!🚮💧

An important part of the watershed, Upper Carr Lake is fed by Natividad Creek which then flows downstream and eventually into Monterey Bay. Keeping this watershed healthy affects our local communities as well as every community and habitat it flows through and to🌊

Snacks, gloves, and tools are provided, sign up through the link in our bio!🔗

Come build community while also keeping our watersheds and oceans clean and healthy! We’ll see you out there👋💚

Our annual report for the 2025-2026 fiscal year! See what we accomplished and how our efforts impacted the community🌱🤝

As we enter the 2026-2027 FY, HSP is looking forward to increased K-12 student engagement, planting more native plants, and expanding our efforts with College Corps and community college Interns. We are working on proposals to participate in regional pollinator projects with new community partners and organizations. We are also looking to increase our work with high school students, providing meaningful service and leadership opportunities for youth💚

Saturday’s Clean up and Birding event at Upper Carr Lake was a success!🐦‍⬛🗑️

We spotted 53 different bird species at/around Upper Carr Lake! Including baby ducklings/goslings!🦆

Volunteers cleaned up 347 pounds of trash—well done! That’s 347 pounds of trash that will end up at the landfill instead of in our (and the birds’) waterways!👏💧

Thank you to everybody who came out. This was HSP’s last public clean up event of the school year—We will see you in the Fall!👋☀️

Join us on Saturday, May 2nd from 10 am-1 pm at Upper Carr Lake Retention Basin in Salinas for a clean up and birding event!🗑️🪶

We will be cleaning up the park and learning about the local birds and migratory birds that rely on Upper Carr lake as a habitat and resting place!🦆🌿
