CSUMB Garden Club

CSUMB Garden Club Garden Club is a group dedicated to building a campus garden, creating a compost area, and raising awareness about the benefits of eating organic foods.

Our recycled organic garden promotes community involvement, healthy eating habits and sustainable life The 2013-2014 Garden Club now has a fence around eight raised beds growing arugula, romaine, red leaf lettuce, swiss chard, broccoli, tomatoes, broccoli, an artichoke and a variety of herbs. Other things growing around the garden include carrots, herbs and native plants. The garden club seeks to

not just grow food in the garden, but also to build connections in the local communities of CSUMB and Monterey County. Upcoming Goals & Events include:
-->Maintain an organic vegetable garden for student consumption at CSUMB
--> Improve on our current composting practices and promote
for a campus-wide compost program
--> Promote local and organic food consumption

Welcome back! We hope your break was wonderful and full of joy. We will NOT be meet this weekend so everyone can adjust to the new semester. However, feel free to visit the garden, which is located on B street.

This Wednesday (2/1) we will be tabling for the Otter Showcase from 11am- 2pm in front of the Library. Stop by to say hello!

Our weekly meeting will be held this Saturday (4/30), 10am-12pm at the campus garden on B street. It is across the street from the bookstore. Feel free to come and leave when ever you please.
This week we will be weeding as well as planting. Also beets, chard, and strawberries are ready to harvest. Don't be shy, come and pick some whenever you please. See you tommorrow!

Hello Gardeners!

We are having our weekly this Saturday (4/9), 10am-12pm at the campus garden on B Street. It is right across the street from the bookstore. Feel free to come and leave whenever you please.

This week we will be planting native plants!

We will also be hosting a lemonade stand on Friday (4/15), 3pm. We will be using the herbs provided by the garden to spice up our lemonade. It will be delicious! So come on down and bring some friends for a FREE refreshing snack. We will also be providing cookies!

Also, we will be participating in Earth Fest on Wednesday (4/20). Keep an eye out for more information!

Hey there gardeners! We are hosting a clean-up event this Friday (3/11) beginning at 3pm in front of the Student Center. This event will conclude with a potluck, so please consider bringing a plate to share. Also, we will be holding our weekly meeting at 10am on Sunday (3/13).
