The City of Seaside has partnered with the Audubon Society and students from CSU Monterey Bay to launch the Heermann’s Gull Monitoring Project.

Seaside's small, unique local colony nests on commercial rooftops in Seaside starting around May, with fledglings appearing through July and August. ⚠️ Please be cautious of potential chicks on the road!⚠️

Discarded batteries go on top of your recycle bin in a clear bag👆🏼🪫

Help keep ReGen Monterey drivers and infrastructure safe! 🚛♻️🌿

Here’s your regular reminder to never place batteries in your curbside recycling and garbage carts. Improperly discarded batteries and electronic devices cause fires EVERY WEEK here at ReGen Monterey.

When you collect enough batteries at home, put them in a clear plastic bag atop your blue recycling cart. Your curbside hauler will collect them and ensure that they are safely recycled.

A recent hauler survey found that 60% of Monterey Peninsula residents are aware of the program. You can help spread the word by sharing with friends and neighbors, and by participating in the program. On curbside collection day, we love to see driveways dotted with bags on bins, and your neighbors will notice, too.

Thank you for keeping garbage truck drivers safe, and protecting ReGen workers and recycling infrastructure owned by the community.
