✅Trail Update from Mid Coast ATV Club ✅

👍 All club trails are currently OPEN, including our Park & Ride trail in Searsmont with access to Fraternity Village.

❌The only exception is the section from Maritime Farms in Belmont to Route 131, and from Route 131 back to Maritime Farms in Belmont, which is temporarily closed.❌

Please follow all posted trail signs, as the closures and detours are clearly marked.

As always, please respect our landowners and their property. Without the generosity and support of our landowners, we would not have trails to ride.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support. Ride safe and enjoy the trails! 🏁

And people wonder why trails get shutdown…..

Maine Warden Service is looking for information regarding the owner and operator of a side by side ATV that struck and dragged a landowner who had stopped the ATV on his property.

Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the Pequawket Lake Road in Limington, a landowner watched a side by side ATV ride through their property at a high rate of speed. When the ATV returned a few minutes later, the landowner was able to stop the ATV, and told him he needed to slow down. When the landowner attempted to photograph the ATV and the registration, the operator rapidly accelerated, striking the landowner and dragging him 75 feet before he got away. The landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released last night.

The ATV is a one bench side by side that seats two people and is gray and black in color with a prominent brush guard on the front of the ATV. The ATV was driven by a male operator in an orange shirt, with a female passenger who had dark hair.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Regional Communications Center dispatch in Augusta at 207-624-7076 ext. 9 or contact MaineOperation Game Thief at 1-800-ALERT-US or maineogt.org if they wish to remain anonymous.

Frye mountain trails are open for the season! Expect early season conditions and please tread lightly as there are still a few wet spots. Please stay on marked trails, follow all signage and respect our awesome landowners. Trail use is a privilege, not a right and without landowners we don’t have any trails. If you happen to see a landowner, give them a wave or even stop and thank them. It goes a long ways!

We will update when we open the Searsmont and Belmont trails. Hopefully in the next week.

Have fun, ride right and ride safe.

We have some unpleasant news.
The wind farm crane project is taking longer than expected to complete.
So the Thorn Brook trail will stay closed until further notice.
The only other way to the wind towers is to go through the center of Abbot and follow signs to Cambridge and tun onto 3600 rd, which turns into Reed rd, turn right at Burdin corner church, and then right onto BFD rd. Then left onto Campbell rd. That will take you to Kingsbury pond. Then go across Rt 16 and into the wind towers.
I will post the trail back open as soon as possible.
Thanks for listening.
