The aim of our ministry is to help people find rest and connection through practicing presence. RESTFUL RECEIVING – We live out of the abundance of life and love that God gives us. UNHURRIED PACE – We slow down to attend to the Spirit’s power and direction. POWERFUL PRESENCE – We relate with awareness and purpose, living responsively rather than reactively. FREQUENT SUBTRACTION – We regularly let

go of distractions. We often say “no” to the good in order to say “yes” to the best. CURIOUS EXPLORATION – We trust there is always more strength, beauty and goodness to discover everywhere and in everyone. INTENTIONAL PLAY – We enjoy our relationships and our work. We see play as a fruit of trusting relationships and meaningful work. HOLISTIC GROWTH – We seek full integration and connection. While depending on the Spirit, we pursue wholeness in ourselves, our relationships, and our organization.

We crave being around people who embody both grace and truth. It’s who we want to be, and it’s what we most want from others.

John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." So we take that to mean:

Presence is the gateway to grace and truth.

When we offer this to others, we can deeply connect without enabling nor being hurtful. When we slow things down, explore someone and show genuine delight… these are the ingredients for a transformative human encounter.

We talk a lot about external and internal slowing. Often our restlessness inside is the reason we're racing through activities and to-do lists. But the inverse can also happen! As the summer frees you from some of your usual school-year responsibilities-- we hope you'll sense the invitation to slow it all down, rather than replace it. Maybe even count some snails in your cowboy boots.

The result might be that your internal world has a chance to breathe. In the words of Axel Munthe, "The soul needs more space than the body."

A Note from Cheryl…"I spend a lot of time offering space for a person to notice where God is actively loving and leading them, but there is something special when people gather. We are edified by a community of distinctly different souls. Groups are just my very favorite. Each one I enter fills that deep passion in me to hear a fresh perspective from a fellow image-bearer.

That is the intention behind this upcoming women’s retreat, and this is my personal invitation to you. I pray you will come to receive the goodness and richness of God’s love as we retreat, rest and celebrate the image of God alive in each of us!"
