This week at the orchard:

Peaches ( ripe and ripening)

Pears ( cooking pears are ready (they ripen on the counter))

Apples ( slim pickings some are ready)

Please research online, what ripe fruit looks and feels like. Pick them up off the ground, pick them from the trees.

Take what you need and need what you take.

We don’t spray so the fruit isn’t going to be grocery store perfect, please don’t waste it, though. If it has a spot cut it out. 🤷🏽

This is a community orchard. There is no charge, no cost, no promises! First come first served.

Remember, the fruit is yours, the trees are Gods!

The peaches are ready!!!

I’m on vacation in California, but I heard through the grape vine that they are in!!!!

Please research online, what a ripe peach looks and feels like.

Take what you need and need what you take.

Now through the end of September there will be various fruits available at The Orchard on Vine!

Come pick and enjoy. The fruit is free to you and yours. Spread the word!

Today:
Mulberries (they start in may and bear through august)

Plums - ripe and ripening for the next month or so

Coming soon:
Peaches!!!!
(probably first week of July)

Apples!!!
(Probably starting the first week of August)

What’s ripe at the orchard:

Plums - give the tree a small shake and pick some up that fall. Pick some up off the ground or straight off the tree. We are even finding some that are green but are sweet and ripe with red inside.

Mulberries - adults please don’t climb the mulberry tree, mulberry branches bend and stay bent. They just don’t spring back like a normal tree. 🤷🏽

It’s Plum crazy at the orchard!

Apples are in …. tentatively. The first row on the left is ready. Come out and pick some if you want.

Google what a ripe apple looks and feels like. We just give the tree a little shake and pick up what falls! Not hurricane, just a little shake. Some apples will have spots, bug, and bird bites. We just cut off the bad spots. Use your judgement, but we don’t spray anything on these so it’s too be expected!

Peaches are on and ready at the vine st orchard. Help yourself. Google first what a ripe one feels like before you pick. Please enjoy what you need and save some for others.

Mulberries are bearing heavy adults please don’t climb the tree. Mulberry trees are very soft wood and the branches will bend.

The apples are not ready yet, but will be in about a month.

At the Vine St Orchard we have lots of fruit coming on from apples to peaches. But you may not know that we have a gem tucked away in Blueberry Corner. This is a Mulberry tree and it is coming into fruit. From now until well into august you can pick fresh mulberries and they are fantastic.
