Hello, Everyone! We just wanted to drop another progress report. We wanted to thank everyone for making these changes possible in the lives our folks. We have also delivered 5,472 meals so far this year!

Four of the residents of Mission Machine's Henderson House got their keys to their new home, a place of their own. These 4 have been living in their new place anywhere from a week and a half to 5 days. They are all doing great, they love their new place and have had a great time making it their own by adding things to it they love, something that tells everyone its theirs. We appreciate all involved that has made this possible, and the volunteers who have helped them decorate their new homes. We will have more residents to come in the near future.

Mission Machine's community partner of the month for September is Searcy First Methodist Church. Searcy First Methodist was one of our first community partners with the meal train meals and warming center. They still provide a meal twice a week for the folks at Mission Machine and others in the community that are in need. They have always been quick to open their doors during the bitter cold times for folks that need it and not only that they would have staff on hand to stay there and provide an evening meal and breakfast. Their thrift store will clothe the folks who come to us with nothing but the shirt on their backs. We want to say thank you for being there for us and the people we serve from the beginning!

Mission Machine would like to give a big thank you to WoodmenLife - Arkansas Region Chapter 68 in Searcy for their generous Donation of $1000. Mission Machine is a community funded project and its people and organizations that let us be able to serve those who are going through hard times. Thank you!

Searcy First Methodist Church and The Bee's Knees is having a memorial service for my friend and friend of Mission Machine, Inc. Todd Baggett, September 21st at 6:00pm. Todd was a good man and he was one of our homeless here in Searcy. We helped Todd off and on over the years along with many other great people like Jodi Garner Vehlies from the Bee's Knees, and Shiannas Cleaning but Todd Baggett was kind of a loner and did things his way. We had talked about the new facility (Henderson House) during the warming center earlier this year and hoped he could be one of the residents but he never fully committed to staying there because he liked to be in town. Todd's death is a reminder of how fragile the people we work with can be, Todd until we meet again brother.- Michael Phifer

Memorial for Todd Baggett will be at 6:00 PM, Monday, September 21st at Searcy First Methodist Church. Todd was a beloved homeless man in our community, a dear friend to the Bee’s Knees, and like a brother to me. Our homeless matter. He deserves all the love.

Residents will soon start moving into our Tiny Homes! We would like to invite you to help them get their rooms ready! If an individual, family, or small group would be interested in taking one resident to pick out bedding, towels, curtains, and some decor they like and help them get their space all fixed up, contact Karen at 501-279-2944 for more information!
It is not necessary to cover the costs if you’d like to help.
