African American Network for Violence Free Relationships (ANFVR)

African American Network for Violence Free Relationships (ANFVR) The conference was in Long Beach, CA. Interval House and other local advocates were determined to never let that happen again.

Who We Are: ANFVR is a "network" of male & female African American advocates, faith leaders, survivors, interested community members, students, scholars and other professionals committed to addressing domestic violence in the African American Community. ANFVR was conceptualized in 2007 when African American Faith and Community leaders of greater Los Angeles did not show up for a national convening

of The Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community. In 2009, ANFVR became a proud project of Interval House Centers for Victims of Domestic Violence—a comprehensive, award-winning agency dedicated to providing services to unserved and underserved populations and communities adversely affected by domestic/intimate partner/sexual violence. In 2011, ANFVR was one of 14 projects in California selected for grant support by Blue Shield Against Violence to enhance Cultural Competency in the field of domestic violence assistance programs in the State.
