8th Grade Champions in the tournament. All 4 games were in a dead heat including the overtime championship!

We are so excited to make a huge announcement! The Valley Team is adding a valley legend to our staff!

Shay Murphy grew up in Van Nuys and went to Montclair Prep (was a valley private school). She lead Montclair to a 2002 CIF championship and was the player of the year. Shay didn’t have a strong girls program in the valley and had to go to the OC for club every week, is thrilled to help girls get local coaching that she never had.

After graduating Montclair Prep, Shay went on to USC, leading the Trojans to two NCAA tournament appearances. She’s the last All American the Trojans had! She recently stepped away from professional Basketball where she has an amazing career. She played in the WNBA over a decade and played overseas year after year. In 2012 she won a Euroleague championship with a Spanish team and 2014 was WNBA champion with Phoenix Mercury.

Shay ended her career recently and has been working for Nike. She now will be on the LAKERS coaching staff. Yes you heard that right! She will lead the skill portion of our practices and consult our coaches. She will be able to extra small training sessions as well which we will promote at a later date.

The valley girls basketball scene is in good hands!!!!
