Troop 123 had a great first day working on Aidan’s Eagle Scout project! Scouts and volunteers spent the day at CHATS, a Yorktown-based nonprofit therapeutic riding and equine-assisted services center, where we began installing three new trail obstacles. Learn more about their mission at chats757.com.

We had a fantastic turnout, enjoyed beautiful weather, and got a lot of work done. It was great to see Scouts living the Scout Oath and Law through service, teamwork, and hard work. Thank you to everyone who came out to help support Aidan and C.H.A.T.S.—we’re excited to keep the momentum going on the next workday!

What an amazing weekend for Troop 123 in Shenandoah National Park!

Our Scouts camped at Loft Mountain Campground and spent the weekend exploring some incredible trails and scenery. We hiked sections of the Appalachian Trail, visited Jones Run Falls, and completed the Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail.

The Scouts enjoyed beautiful mountain views, incredible stargazing, camp cooking, hiking, and practicing important scouting skills throughout the trip.

Our High Adventure crew also began preparing for their upcoming trip to the Sierra Nevada by hiking with full packs for nearly 10 miles along the AT and Jones Run Trail. Great preparation, teamwork, and determination by everyone involved!

A big thank you to all the leaders, parents, and Scouts who helped make the weekend a success. Adventure is calling, and Troop 123 is ready!

Our Scouts had an amazing time last weekend in Newport News Park doing our annual scouting skills trip. They performed amazingly, toughing out a terrible rain storm on Friday night and extremely cold temperatures on Saturday and Sunday morning. We had two scouts complete their first rank and one scout complete his last requirements for Eagle Scout! Well done, gents!

Troop 123 had an awesome weekend at Goshen Scout Reservation! 🏕️

Our Scouts split into two caving adventures — the younger guys tackled two different caves with an epic game of hide-and-seek. The older Scouts braved a water cave with a chilly 52° stream running through it…up to 8-10 feet deep! It was a true adventure!

After caving, everyone came together for our annual Thanksgiving Cook-Off. The creativity (and delicious smells!) were off the charts. From hearty entrees to surprise amazing sides, these Scouts really brought their A-game. 🍽️🔥

Proud of Troop 123 for their teamwork, courage, and Scout spirit all weekend long! If you have any active boys who would love to experience this type of adventure please message us.

Our Scouts had an amazing time at Natural Bridge, Virginia this weekend. We saw all the fall colors, incredible geological features, and visited the Virginia Safari Park. We stayed at the Hopper Creek campsite, which we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

5 years ago, when he moved to Yorktown with his family, Bill Fallon joined our troop. Being in a military family, and unfamiliar with the area, Billy (as he was known at the time) wasn't quite sure that Boy Scouts (as we were known at the time) was the right choice for him, but we convinced him to give it a try and join us for summer camp at Camp Raven K**b. He was hooked, and showed a real passion for Scouting.

In the summer of 2024, Bill and his family left Yorktown again for a move to Japan. He was a life scout, and promised to finish his path to Eagle. Tonight was his Eagle Board of Review, and he passed with flying colors.

Please join us in wishing Bill Fallon a hearty congratulations for his ascension to Scouting's highest rank!
