Troop 689, Seaford, NY, has been serving the surrounding areas for over 30 years providing the most successful program for boys. For almost 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps you

Scouting promises you the great outdoors. As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. We spent the weekend at Glen Gray this weekend and had some great weather for a hike to Matapan Rock and the ruins of Van Slyke Castle.

Get some great weather, great program and a great bunch of scouts in the same place and you're sure to have an awesome time.

A fantastic job by the seniors in putting together the first Troop 689 Camp-O-Ree with 6 different events that tested our scouts in different fields. Orienteering, First Aid, Water Rocket building & launching, fire building, shelter building and patrol spirit.

Add in a quick hike to the cliffs at the Hudson River and you've got yourself a perfect weekend.

Thanks to everybody from Troop 689 (scouts and families alike) who placed flags on the graves of those who served this country. It was great to see so many of our scouting family come out to help and remember those who put everything on the line for this nation. Enjoy the day and don't forget what this weekend is all about.

The rain couldn't stop us and we had a great time out at Schiff and at the Railroad Museum of Long Island. The boys worked on the Railroading merit badge and we even made a stop at the Grumman airfield to check out some jets. Looking forward to Alpine in June!
