Since its inception, the 9/11 SHS Memorial Fund has received not only the financial support but also the moral support of so many people. The success of your efforts is the 9/11 SHS Memorial, a permanent tribute to our five Seaford HS alumni (Tom, Tim, John, Rob and Michael) who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the WTC on 9-11-01. This memorial stands on the grounds of Seaford High Scho

ol and it has become a learning plaza that is dedicated to teaching students of Seaford the meaning of democracy. In addition, the 9/11 Memorial Fund finances the Patriot Award which is presented annually to five Seaford HS seniors who have distinguished themselves in service to school and/or community. Our achievements are a testimony to the friends of the 9/11 SHS Memorial. This response has defined "Seaford Pride". The Patriot Award is named in recognition of all that is meaningful to us as Americans. Our continued promotion of September 11th as a "Day of Commitment to Service" is a testimony to our lost alumni.

The 2026 Patriot Award Dinner was a tremendous success.
Despite torrential rain, more than 280 guests gathered at the beautiful Crest Hollow Country Club to celebrate the enduring spirit of service, character, and commitment that defines our community.
Together, we honored the memories of our five beloved Seaford High School alumni who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We will always remember Thomas (Tommy) Haskell, Timothy (Timmy) Haskell, John Perry, Robert (Rob) Sliwak, and Michael Wittenstein. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy continue to inspire all that we do.
This year, six exceptional students joined the ranks of the Patriot Award Association, bringing the total number of Patriot Award recipients to 129 since the award's inception. The 2026 Patriot Award recipients are Emily Brown, Michelle Evangelista, Brian Falk, Paiten Haskell, Matthew Kind, and Valerie Martin. Each exemplifies the core values of Service, Character, and Commitment that the Patriot Award represents.
We were also proud to present the 2026 Honorary Patriot Awards to Dawn Haskell Carbone, Robert (Bob) Powell, and Bob Valvano, recognizing their extraordinary dedication and service to our community.
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Seaford High School 9/11 Memorial Committee and the Patriot Award, we are profoundly grateful to our families, friends, sponsors, elected officials, volunteers, and all who continue to support our mission. Because of your generosity and steadfast commitment, we ensure that the lives of Tommy, Timmy, John, Rob, and Michael will never be forgotten and that future generations will continue to embrace the values they embodied.
No day shall erase you from the memory of time.
