⏰ Delayed? When do we drop?

It’s one of the most common questions we hear during a lengthy delay: At what point are we no longer legal to take the flight?

We’ve broken down the basics in this post to help you understand what to watch for when the delays start adding up.

⚠️ Remember: These are general guidelines. Your specific contractual limits can vary based on factors such as your domicile, scheduled duty period, crew staffing or augmentation, type of flying, and other contractual provisions.

✊ Building Worker Power in Atlanta!

Council 47’s Alexandra Roa and Bruni Agosto-Pinal, alongside Council 43 LEC Secretary Soon Kim, proudly represented AFA at the 2026 CWA Human Rights Conference in Atlanta! 🌟

Over four days, CWA members from across the country came together for education, solidarity, and action around issues impacting working people, including artificial intelligence, immigration, gender justice, work-life balance, veterans’ advocacy, and organizing.

Bruni also represented AFA through her role on the CWA Women’s Committee and presented on the impact of federal DEI rollbacks on Black women in the federal workforce.

The conference wrapped up by putting education into action, including standing in solidarity with Delta Flight Attendants in their campaign to organize with AFA! ✈️✊

Alexandra, Bruni, and Soon return home with new ideas, resources, and connections that will help strengthen our Human Rights work and continue building worker power within our councils and across our union.

🚨 BID THE DATE, SEA! 🚨

Council 47 is excited to host our first-ever Seattle Membership Meeting on Saturday, August 15! 🎉

We'll be talking about everything Seattle, including our Contract, inflight service, Joint Collective Bargaining negotiations, and much more. Most importantly, this is your opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, share feedback, and connect with both your Council 47 leadership and your fellow Seattle Flight Attendants as we continue navigating this transition together.

🍽️ Food & libations will be provided.

🗓️ Bid August 15 off! Bidding opens on the 10th, so make sure to plan ahead if you'd like to attend.

More details, including the meeting time, location, agenda, and registration information, will be shared soon. Advance registration will be required, and this is a closed meeting for Council 47 members only.

Council 47 was proud to welcome our newly appointed committee chairs and committee members to the AFA Office in Seattle yesterday for a full day of orientation, planning, and collaboration.

Together, we reviewed the AFA structure, discussed our goals for the future, and developed strategies to best support our growing SEA Flight Attendant community. We were also honored to hear from AFA International leaders Sara Nelson, Dante Harris, and Keturah Johnson, who shared updates on our Union and the aviation industry, along with words of encouragement for our volunteers.

A huge mahalo to all of our volunteers who have stepped up to serve. Your dedication helps ensure that our members have strong representation, advocacy, and support.

Council 47 is committed to serving both our LAX and SEA members, and we’re excited for the work ahead. ✈️💙
