IBEW Local 77

IBEW Local 77 On August 28, 1897, IBEW Local 77 was granted our charter. We now celebrate 115 years of being a thriving IBEW Local Union.

Local 77 is one of the largest IBEW Local Unions within the United States. Our membership represents a variety of classifications within the electrical industry, including: Journeyman Linemen, Journeyman Metermen, Journeyman Cablesplicers, Power Dispatchers, Customer Service Representatives, Call Center Responders, Protection Relay System Operators, Journeyman Substation Wiremen, and Journeyman Hy

dro Operators to name a few. IBEW Local 77 also represents Journeyman Tree Trimmers, Groundman, and Flaggers.

🌳📣 We are thrilled to announce that Brick Strait has joined our team as the new Tree Business Representative. 🌳⚡️

Brick has been a valuable member of Local 77, serving on committees, being a unit chair, and participating in the tree negotiating committee. We have no doubt that Brick will do an excellent job representing our members' interests.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to Brick with any questions, concerns, or changes in your wages, hours, and working conditions. We are excited to have Brick on board and can't wait to see all the great things they will accomplish in this role. Welcome, Brick! 🎉

📣HELP US PROTECT OUR BROTHER'S AND SISTER'S JOBS BY TAKING A MOMENT TO SIGN TODAY!

Last summer we worked to protect clean, affordable, and reliable hydro power in the Pacific Northwest in order to protect our Local 77 member's jobs and livelihoods.

The Murray-Inslee recommendations released last summer clearly stated the region cannot afford to remove productive, climate-fighting dams if we’re to achieve the region’s aggressive clean energy objectives and maintain an affordable, reliable electric grid.

Now, the Washington state Legislature is considering funding yet another report on dam removal. We welcome thorough and thoughtful research, but we need your help to ensure state dollars go towards meaningful research and not a redundant political document.

SEND A COMMENT TO LEGISLATORS

- Please tell a bi-partisan group of legislators that ANY additional spending on research must:

- be conducted by nationally recognized, independent researchers like the National Academies of Sciences

- specifically address the likely grid reliability, affordability, and carbon impacts of dam removal

- be directed by the legislature and not the executive branch, to avoid political bias.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Don Guillot, former Business Manager of IBEW Local 77. Don served three terms from 2004 until 2013. He also held the position of Business Representative for the Local for many years and was a 53 year member of IBEW. He will be missed by the membership and his colleagues.

Save the date!!!!! HOLIDAY AT THE HALL 2022🎄🎅🏽🤶🏼🎁🕯️🎊✨☃️
All members and family are invited December 9 at 6pm to the Spokane hall to celebrate the holiday season. We will be providing dinner from the Old Spaghetti Factory, a hot coco bar, holiday treats, union fellowship, holiday music, beer and wine, and possibly a visit from Santa himself!
We are teaming up with Second Harvest Inland Northwest and Toys for Tots, we’ll be accepting donations of new unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items. Don’t forget to RSVP at the Spokane Hall to assure there will be enough food and treats for all, we are looking forward to spending an evening with you all!!!!

🙌Thank you to all our brothers and sisters at 77 working all weekend. Our Customer Service Reps, Dispatchers, Warehouseman, Wireman, Meterman, Flaggers, Tree Trimmers, Line Crews and many more all play a pivotal role in the restoration process. Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication to your communities.

I know this has been a long weekend that will be followed by a long week. Please remember safety FIRST! We want everyone to go home to their families. 👊⚡👊
