Want to support anti-trafficking efforts but not sure where to start? WARN is looking for partners, volunteers, and community members to help our cause 📢

We're campaigning throughout 2025 to raise funding for anti-trafficking services and increase awareness of human trafficking. We're looking for local businesses, organizations, and community partners to join us in our fundraising efforts.

Now more than ever, we need to come together to support our neighbors who have experienced human trafficking. Both labor trafficking and s*x trafficking are vastly underreported in Washington, but the data we have shows that these crimes are happening in our backyard and traffickers are targeting our community’s most vulnerable members.

Interested in contributing to our mission? The best way to prevent and respond to human trafficking is as a community! Throughout 2025, WARN will be leading human trafficking awareness and response trainings for groups who want to learn more about the human trafficking epidemic and how they can help. You can gather your friends, colleagues, church, or neighbors. If you organize a group and collect ‘ticket’ donations (we suggest a sliding scale from $15-30), a WARN trainer will come to you and provide information about human trafficking and local response efforts. We can also suggest films that are recommended by trafficking survivors for their portrayals of human trafficking and related issues, so you can host a movie night and discussion!

WARN is honored to have presented at the Freedom Network USA Anti-Trafficking Conference alongside Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking (WashACT) co-chairs!

WARN co-leads the WashACT statewide anti-trafficking task force in partnership with the Seattle Police Department and the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington. Our FNUSA presentation was on a groundbreaking labor trafficking case from 2024 in which the owner of a Vashon Island landscaping company was convicted of several counts including labor trafficking and money laundering. A WARN advocate spoke on service provision alongside the investigator and the prosecutor for the case.

To read the press release from USAO WDWA:

Seattle –A 45-year-old Vashon Island, Washington resident was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Seattle to 20 years in prison for 21 federal felonies related to human trafficking and forced labor, announced U.S. Attorney Tessa M. Gorman.

WARN is honored to be in community with partners like API Chaya. Earlier this month, API Chaya hosted their 30th anniversary vigil to remember the lives of Susana Remerata Blackwell, baby Kristine, Phoebe Dizon, and Veronica Laureta Johnson, who were all murdered by Susana's abusive husband at the King County Courthouse in 1995.

The WARN team looks forward to El Centro de la Raza’s Día de los Mu***os festival every year! We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate and create an ofrenda to honor survivors of human trafficking.

Why do we use a mirror in our ofrenda?

Human trafficking can be experienced by anyone and can occur anywhere within a community, and survivors are entitled to confidential services. Ofrendas often have images of loved ones. By using a mirror, we aim to highlight the pervasiveness of this issue, include faces from the community in our display, and protect the privacy of survivors.

Last month, WARN was delighted to join our community partner Puget Sound Training Center as they celebrated 25 years of providing career training and employment services with a resource fair at Renton Technical College! We shared information on human trafficking awareness and WARN services with community members and connected with organizations doing incredible work in Renton and beyond. Thank you PSTC for an amazing day filled with resources, games, music, and BBQ ❣️
