Our Story

ABOUT US Founded in 1962, the Irish American Cultural Institute (IACI) is the leading Irish American cultural organization. The IACI is a federally recognized 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit national organization devoted to promoting an intelligent appreciation of Ireland and the role and contributions of the Irish in America. The IACI is strictly apolitical and nonsectarian, and is the only Irish American organization that has as its patron, The President of Ireland. Over the past four decades, the IACI has carved an honored place for the Irish dimension in American life. No comparable body has such an impressive track record of achievement and sustained programming. OVERVIEW The resources we provide demonstrate our core values as an organization. The IACI is: An Arts & Culture Resource. Recognizing the depth & creative core of the Irish legacy, the IACI seeks to support and promote Irish and Irish-American artistic and cultural initiatives on both sides of the Atlantic. An Educational Resource - Passing on the rich history of Ireland and Irish America is a keystone of the IACI. We aim to educate the entire public on the many facets of Irish culture and history, with special emphasis on educating America's younger generation, as they are history's critical link to the future. An Information Resource - With over 40 years of institutional memory, the IACI is a leading source of knowledge regarding Irish & Irish American cultural, social, governmental, and educational organizations. A Funding Resource - The IACI places high priority in supporting continuing research and growth of Irish and Irish American history and culture. MISSION STATEMENT The Irish American Cultural Institute provides leadership and resources to preserve, interpret, and Is there anything else needed from me?
