Friends of the Sea Cliff Library The Friends of Sea Cliff Library is a non-profit organization committed to supporting our beloved libraries, our true community centers.

Join us by filling out a membership form, come to our fun-filled public events and attend our monthly meetings. The Friends of the Sea Cliff Library is a group of volunteers whose mission is to support our local libraries. Through various fundraising activities and generous donations from the community, we are able to enhance library services and resources. If you wish to contribute or volunteer,

Books and libraries are for everyone ❤️

📚 It’s the start of National Library Week—and the numbers are… a lot.

The American Library Association just released its list of the 11 Most Challenged Books of 2025, along with its annual State of America’s Libraries Report.

Here’s what stands out:
• 4,235 titles challenged (2nd highest ever)
• 5,668 books banned + 920 more restricted (highest on record)
• 40% of challenged books center LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC experiences

And this:
👉 92% of challenges came from pressure groups and government officials
👉 Less than 3% came from individual parents

The conversation around books isn’t just happening at home—it’s being shaped elsewhere.
