Another great distro day today! Fried chicken, pasta salad, coleslaw, deli sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches (thanks to our huge egg donation this week!), pasta, cookies, snacks, water, soda, hygiene items, one tent, and cigs.

We saw about 40 folks today and some new faces, and had almost no leftovers. As always, thanks to TheVspot Bar for hosting us! If you’d like to get involved, stop by every Saturday at 5! 🤝❤️

This was one of our best number days in terms of food and supplies distributed and we’re gonna keep on keeping on every Saturday at 5pm outside TheVspot Bar. Come on out and see what it’s all about! 🤝

Let’s play some catchup on the socials! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our benefit show last month at TheVspot Bar! 🎶

Thanks to Ed Cuozzo, Sweetnest, and Pollen for playing great tunes all day, and to all our raffle item donors, including some last minute additions for a total of 21 baskets!

We raised over $500 that day that has gone directly to tents, hygiene supplies, and partial meal reimbursements to our wonderful cooks each week.

Ran around town today picking up even more raffle donations! 🙌🎟️

Hand-hammered mirror from Òra Home Company, $25 gift card from Friendly Alien Books, and $25 gift card from Zummo's!

Thank you so so much to the local small businesses who are contributing to our fundraising efforts! Our benefit show Sunday is one you won’t wanna miss 💖

The show: 2-6PM THIS Sunday, July 12th at TheVspot Bar in Scranton featuring local music acts and raffle prizes. $10 cover at the door gets you 2 free raffle entries, plus more available for purchase, or, if you like, you can bring us donations of new and unopened travel size toiletry items or a camping tent to waive the cover charge 🤝 Also, a portion of all V-Spot sales will come to us, so come hungry!

Our mutual aid meals every Saturday feed and supply 40+ people on average each week. As a community, we fund most of the food and supplies out of pocket, while fundraisers like this help us survival supplies like tents, tarps, and bedrolls, as well as daily comfort hygiene items like soap and body wipes, bug spray, deodorant, and toothbrush kits.

Please share this post and come out on Sunday! It’s the easiest way to support this kind of work in Scranton.

That’s us for last week and today!

Points of business:
1. Hygiene items are going fast and tents, shoes, and other requests are coming in weekly. We will be posting a specific list of needs this week for hygiene and small item donations, but you can always check our links to donate directly or to shop off our Amazon wishlist (if you don’t want to shop on Amazon, you can use it for inspo an shop more locally / bring things on Saturdays.)

2. April sticker club stickers will be ordered this week and be sent out mid-month! If you want to join, you have time to get April’s sticker! Also, if you’re a Scranton local artist who would like to donate a sticker design, DM us!

3. We are always, always looking for weekly cooks who can cover a main and/or side. If you would be available for one week (or a few!) this spring and summer, please reach out to be added to our planning meetings!

What a great day for mutual aid in Scranton! 🤝

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Scranton Punk Rock Flea Market featuring Dour, Leadpetal, Acid Rat!, Raynov, and Duds and bought some sweet treats. Our bake sale raised over $300 that is going directly to supporting our unhoused neighbors with tents, backpacks, hygiene items, and our Saturday meal program. ❤️
