Today we met with the Constituents for Katie Muth, Stop Archbald Data Centers, and Concerned Citizens of Montour County and it was another reminder of how important it is for all of us to collaborate and come together in this fight.

We had a great discussion and were able to show the Constituents for Katie Muth group firsthand some of the destruction and concerns surrounding Archbald.

We also discussed the possibility of bringing even more data center opposition groups together for a Zoom call so we can share ideas, concerns, strategies, and learn more about what each community is facing. We need to help each other.

We truly thank the Senator Katie Muth group for making the trip up here to learn more about what our communities are fighting against. And for us, it’s just another reason to WRITE IN KATIE MUTH FOR GOVERNOR. Her district is down near Philadelphia, yet people supporting her drove all the way here because she cares enough to pay attention to what is happening in Northeastern Pennsylvania…. more than some of the political figures who actually live right here do.

I noticed a lot of people think Shapiro’s executive order is saving us from Data Centers. Let us be very clear…. It is not.

Was the timing of this executive order strategic?

1. Did Shapiro wait to put in this executive order now because many developers have already secured sites and began construction? This executive order may stop FUTURE projects from receiving Fast Track treatment and get stricter regulations but it cannot erase the already active ones that already have applications in or construction started.

2. Did he wait until now so it looks like he is doing something to help protect us against data centers just months before the election?

3. Why an executive order? Shapiro’s executive order may sound like strong action, but why weren’t these protections pushed into permanent law or formal regulations that would be much harder for a future governor to undo. An executive order can be changed or rescinded far more easily than legislation, which makes the timing (just months before the election) hard to ignore. This suddenly gives Shapiro something he can point to and say, “See, I’m protecting you.”

We are not convinced this is about protecting us; we think it’s about looking good to the public before voters head to the polls. We need to read between the lines and stop being fooled by political theater. If these protections truly mattered to him, he would have made them permanent.

Read the fine print. Shapiro’s Executive Order does not go back and erase permits or approvals that data center developers already secured. The administration specifically says the new DEP permitting process applies to “new permit applications going forward.” Projects already in process will not be affected.

It does not automatically stop, reopen, or invalidate approvals and permits of projects already obtained before August 18, 2026.

Also let’s add more fuel to the fire…

- March 6. 2026: Leaked emails revealed that real estate developers lobbying for Amazon warned state officials (including Ben Kirshner and Shapiro) that Amazon might halt or withhold future multi-billion-dollar investments in PA unless the state provided greater legal and regulatory certainty against local zoning and permit appeals. Amazon also complained about appeals and permitting decisions and suggested to make appeals much more difficult financially.

- March 19, 2026: That’s when NorthPoint (the data center developer building Amazon) so graciously happened to donate $100K to Shapiro.

That’s disgusting! Amazon was getting pi**ed off that We the People are fighting so hard and giving so much push back that they threatened to pull out if something didn’t change and then Amazon had the nerve to suggest to make it more financially difficult for us to appeal. Knowing they have unlimited funds and we are all struggling to survive. THEN they pay Shapiro $100K
