Another President of The Century Club.
Known for her charitable work in the region, Grace Storrs Weston was co-founder and president of the Century Club, Lackawanna Historical Society trustee, Young Women's Christians Association board member, and member of the Municipal Shade Tree Commission. A great lover of flowers, she conceived of and financed Nay Aug Park's rose garden; she also decorated the interior of the Westminster Presbyterian Church with flowers from her greenhouse. In addition to her own pursuits, Grace joined her husband Charles, a co-founder of the Community Chest, in his work with the organization. Although Grace and her husband Charles did not have children of their own, they did great deal for children in the community: along Charles' sister Caroline Weston Bird, the Westons established Weston Field, Scranton's first public recreation center, in 1915. Grace and Charles would support the center throughout their lives, contributing equipment to the park and funding its facilities.
