Last week, the authorized parties finalized our new 2025–2028 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), following ratification by the membership in the vote completed on February 13.

While no contract secures everything we sought, this agreement advances faculty economic security, preserves core benefits, strengthens due process and faculty participation, and makes gains in fairness and transparency in support of faculty work.

It also reflects the steady, determined engagement of our members. Reaching a new CBA is never the effort of a few; it is the result of collective commitment, shared resolve, and a clear focus on our priorities.

We extend our sincere thanks to the members of our bargaining team, the Salary and Benefits Committee, the Steering Committee, Contract Action Team (CAT) leaders and members, FAC liaisons, FAC members, and the many students and other supporters (both seen and unseen!) who contributed throughout this process.

Because of that collective effort through a long and challenging bargaining cycle, we move forward with a strong contract, an even stronger union, and a clear understanding that the same solidarity and steady engagement that carried us through bargaining will guide us in the opportunities and challenges ahead.

This spotlight on our recent contract campaign recognizes the collective work faculty have done to advance shared priorities and strengthen our voice.

That work is now reaching an important moment: union members will vote Feb. 11–13 on a tentative new collective bargaining agreement that reflects meaningful progress on issues that matter to our members.

FAC and the University's bargaining team have reached a tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)! 🎉There are still some important steps to complete to make sure everyone has complete information before FAC members vote, but if all goes well, we expect to hold that vote in mid-February. In the meantime, we have paused Minimal Compliance so the faculty can begin Spring semester doing what we love: going above and beyond for our students and the University.

It is day 142 of Scranton Faculty working without a contract, and after a hiatus for the holiday weekend, we are pausing our counter posts because the in-person stage of negotiations has finally concluded. The table teams are now compiling a tentative collective bargaining agreement to be voted on by FAC members. Faculty are still under Minimal Compliance, but we are working hard to prepare for Spring semester and are hopeful of a resolution soon!
