On Tuesday, the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County Sensory Session was all about stone fruits, and, needless to say, it was a sweet success! Participants explored the colors, textures, aromas, and flavors of summer favorites like peaches, cherries, plums, and nectarines.

From tasting fresh fruit to sampling delicious pies, jams, and even crunchy almonds (a stone fruit cousin!), everyone put their senses to work while learning more about these orchard treasures.

Who knew gardening education could be this delicious?

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of learning, sharing, and savoring the tastes of the season!

Thank You, Scranton Lions Club Dream Game!

The Lackawanna Blind Association is deeply grateful to the Scranton Lions Club for their generous $10,000 donation from the 92nd Annual Dream Game in support of our mission.

We are especially honored by this longstanding partnership. The Lackawanna Blind Association has been a recipient of Dream Game proceeds since 1934, and since 1996, the Scranton Lions Club has raised nearly $400,000 through this incredible community tradition to support our organization.

The Dream Game is also recognized as the longest-running Dream Game in the country, a testament to the enduring generosity and spirit of our community. This generosity has helped us provide essential programs, services, and opportunities that empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

To the Lions Club, Dream Game participants, volunteers, sponsors, and fans: thank you for your unwavering commitment to making a difference. Your support continues to change lives and strengthen our community.

Monday was a great day at the Swing for Sight Golf Tournament! Check out the photos and relive some of our favorite moments from the tournament!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this year's event a tremendous success. Your generosity and dedication make a real difference and help support the mission of the Lackawanna Blind Association.

From great friends and plenty of laughter...to the opportunity to experience our vision simulator goggles... it was truly a day to remember. The goggles offered participants a powerful glimpse into the challenges of vision loss, helping to build understanding, awareness, and empathy for the individuals we serve.

A special thank you to Marty McKeel and Adam Williams for their outstanding support throughout the day. The opportunity to interact with you and share your stories truly made a difference and served as an important reminder of the impact this event has.

We appreciate the support and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
