Once again this year, the members of the South Scranton Lions donated dozens of toys and gifts to the Catherine McAuley Center for distribution to needy children of the area.

The South Scranton Lions Club adopted two families from the Catherine McAuley Center and bought the entire families an assortment of gifts to make their Christmas season brighter. Shown here are the wrapped presents given to the Center for the two families. We hope that their holidays will be happy and that they enjoy the gifts.

Members of the South Scranton Lions Club meet to finalize the plans for their Annual Pasta Dinner. This year's dinner will once again be held at the Dante Club, 1916 Prospect Avenue, on Thursday, October 25th from 4-7 PM. Seated are Lions Bryan Refice and Co-Chairman John Skaluba, and Standing is Lion Jeff Toman. Missing from the photo is Co-chair Terilynn D'Agostino. In addition to the delicious pasta, there will be raffles held to award donated prizes. Come and join the fun and help raise funds needed to assist the less fortunate in the South Scranton area!

Please join the South Scranton Lions at our annual Pasta Dinner. It will be October 25th, from 4 to 7 PM, and the $9 donation will greatly aid the Lions to meet their goal of assisting the less fortunate in the South Scranton Area! See you there!

Lions District 14-H Vice Governor Joe Skinner administers the oath to new South Scranton Lions Club members Nyssa Cohawitz and Terilyn D'Agostino at their latest monthly meeting. Welcome to both new Lions! Terilyn has already volunteered to be the Co-Chair of the club's upcoming Annual Pasta Dinner!

The South Scranton Lions Club held their annual New York Yankees ticket raffle at its July meeting last week. Grand prize winner of 4 Main Level seats to a New York Yankees game vs the Seattle Mariners is Christy Savakinas. Second prize of 2 Main Level seats to a Baltimore Orioles game in New York was won by Dan Frascella. Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to all who purchased the raffle tickets. The Club made a nice profit. Also thanks to Gerrity's Market, and Andy Gavins for donating the Yankee tickets!

Do you or someone you know have eyeglasses that are no longer used? The South Scranton Lions Club recycles used glasses in collection boxes like this. You can find these boxes at a number of local partners, like Andrew Brown's Drug Store, Northeast Eye Optical Center, Penn Security Bank, South Side Senior Center, Finale Hair Care, or the Lasik Surgery - Accuity Center. Or you can leave a message on this page and we will try to find a way to get your eyeglasses recycled! If you know of a place that would accept a collection box, tell us that too!

Members of the South Scranton Lions Club are now selling raffle tickets. The grand prize is 4 Main Level seats to a New York Yankees game vs the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, August 5th at Yankee Stadium. Second prize is 2 Main Level seats to a Baltimore Orioles game in New York. The tickets are only $2, or three tickets for $5, and available from any member of the club. If you are interested, message me and we will get them to you! It helps a great cause, as we assist senior citizens and many others in need in the South Scranton area.

Lion Joe D'Agostino JR is pinned with his President's pin. PDG Pam Savitski did the honors of swearing in Lion Joe as the new President of the South Scranton Lions Club at its monthly meeting.
